No, it does not. It includes the same content from the original Guild Wars and Guild Wars: Eye of the North Standard Editions.
Does the Platinum Edition give characters the Divine Aura?
No. The Divine Aura is a component of the Guild Wars Collector's Edition and is not a component of the Guild Wars Platinum Edition.
Are there bonus items, extra character slots, or special skill unlocks associated with the Platinum Edition?
No, there are not. I mean, for $60 you get the basic versions of both games. Not a bad deal, I suppose, but with everyone clamoring for a CE, this seems like the perfect vehicle to release a new mini-pet, some more weapons, extra slots... something. Anything to get people like me to spend $20 more dollars on GW:EN.

Yeah well its good for people who wanna try both games
I was expecting there to be more with it being platinum and all but its cool that theyre doin this

At least they are very honest and direct about it: We recommend you simply purchase Guild Wars: Eye of the North if you already own the first campaign.
I suppose if they did offer something unique, then people would complain they had to spend $20 more to get it...

Always something to complain about. Get the original + expansion for $60 is a great deal, especially for luring in new players, which is what this is aimed at, not existing players. Before the games were stand alone so that new players wouldn't feel pressured to by all the games right away, this is pretty much the same idea, but applied to an expansion.
LifeInfusion
I'd get it if the box contents were different but alas, they probably won't be. I'd be doubtful they even give the 100+ page Prophecies manual seeing as how it doesn't give the GOTY weapons ($5).

It's a nice pack for friends who are new to GW and other starters to purchase.

Previous Guild Wars games did not require prior purchase to play, that helped bring in a lot of new players. GW:EN does require a prior pruchase so that had to come up with something to draw in new players. I think that what the Plat Edition offers is a great deal. I have 2 friends I've been trying to convince to buy the game and I'll start pitching this to them now.
What really makes me wonder about this is the posibility of FUTURE Plat Editions. Will we see more expansions and a Factions Plat Edition and/or a Nightfall Plat Edition?? Anet has said they have not ruled out future expansions to GW1.....

I still think its a cool idea on Anet's part.
But yeah, there is ALOT more they could have done with it, if it had divine aura I would have bought it :P

I would've considered buying it if it came with the Chimeric Prism.

You won't be able to get the bonus mission pack as well, will you? Is this purchaseable from the store?
And why is it called Platinum edition if there's nothing in it???

I guess because it has 2 games? How much does the original Guild Wars sell for now anyway? $30? http://www.amazon.com/NCsoft-FG-XP-0.../dp/B0002BJQDY
