[skill=big]Power Flux[/skill]
I was wondering if anyone out there has ever put this skill to good use? I like the look of it for the simple reason is it is one of the quicker recharging mesmer interrupts: same recharge as Power Leech and surpassed only by Psychic Distraction and Power Return.
It seems as though [wiki]Power Leech[/wiki] may be superior, because even at only 9 Inspiration Magic it steals 4 energy whenever a spell or chant is cast over a 10 second period.
Power Flux Reduces target's energy regen by 2. So, doing the math, I make that 6 energy lost due to Power Flux. It should be noted however that Power Flux is unconditional...meaning if you hex someone with it they will get the -2 energy regen until the hex ends or is removed, with Power Leech you are relying on the target being stupid enough to cast spells during the period they are hexed. The target only needs to cast 2 spells in order to surpass the energy denial brought on by Power Flux
I have been trying the following build out in AB and Fort Aspenwood with good success:
[skill]Guilt[/skill][skill]Energy Burn[/skill][skill]Energy Tap[/skill][skill]Power Leak[/skill][skill]Power Flux[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Diversion[/skill][skill]Resilient Weapon[/skill]
The build has managed to drain an Elementalist of her energy in AB. I feel the poor soul I chose to target was just a little stupid. I used Guilt and Energy Burn to interrupt her first spell and reduce her energy, then she thought she could use Phoenix, which got interrupted with Power Leak, and then, for some completely unknown reason, she had a crack at casting Meteor Shower on me. Power Flux dealt with that one. I received a comment in Local Chat about how she had no energy and how she would "get me next time". Hmm..
Questions:Do people use Power Flux, or is Power Leech always preferrable? What is the general consensus towards Power Flux? Any suggestions/comments on my build?

The effects of Power Flux just aren't worth it.
If you really want the energy degen, Panic is superior by far.
If you want the interrupt, PD or Power Block are better as elites - and the nonelites (leak, return) are more effective in their roles (epressure, speed respectively).

Panic is a stunning elite, if a little energy hungry. I think a Panic build won my my first and only Gladiator Point a very long time ago - Not really played any PvP outside of AB/FA since then.
So Power Flux is "ok" versus Paragons. Hmm...Yes it will give one 0 energy regen, however, do many paragons go out with full chant-only builds? The adrenal skills make sure a Paragon can go on fighting even with 0-energy regen for 10 seconds...so I think "completely shut down" is a little dramatic.
Perhaps I will stick to other elites in future. Power Leech should prove more beneficial for AB since a good proportion of ABers are a bit simple and will continue to cast even when hexed.

Gfte allows paragons to regain energy even without regen, so you're not slowing them down that much.
