If you've got to kaineng, and have all 3 chapters, I'd recommend you go to nightfall. Pick up at least the first 4-5 heroes, especially olias from the consulate docks area. A MM will make almost any quest much easier. The basic MM skills can be got pretty early (and a rit can use them as well so its not a waste of money or skill points) and hero skill points can get you some free skills since you've just started. Also, night fall has buried treasures, unlocked treasure chests etc that give out free plat and items. It's pretty easy to hit the first 4, which should give you about 3-4 plat and some items.
Also, maybe pop over to prophecies, they have quests that give you free skills which are useful to outfit your heroes and your secondary. You can also check out collectors gear. Look on
www.guildwiki.org for collectors and the items they want, and what they give in return. A lot of max blue collector stuff is identical in function to green items, so you can outfit yourself and heroes pretty easy for free.
In factions and prophecies as well, you can trade collectors items for armour. For a rit, you can get full armour level 60 armour pieces for jade bracelets (chest armour), putrid cysts (gloves), plague idols (leggings) and venerable mantid pincers (shoes and headpiece). Think you need 5 of each, except for the mantid pincers which you need 10. All the collectors are pretty much near kaineng or the market place so easy to get to. So you can get max armour for free. You can't put insignia's on them (or that's what I've heard) but the armour should be more than enough to last. As you get money later, you can buy whatever armour you want piece buy piece and replace the collectors pieces.
Also, there's quite a few easy quests around kaineng that you can get that give out xp and gold where you only have to fight like one guy or just need to run around talking to people. Good for getting you up to lvl20.
