How has the favor change effected the rate at which you get titles ?
bilateralrope
With favor being changed to being based on how fast people max titles, there are some people worried that it has caused a spike in the rate at which titles are earned. So I'm asking the following question:
Has the favor change caused you to change how fast your earning your titles or not ?
If yes, then please tell us how its changed your title earning habits. If no then you are like me and your either not earning titles, or your earning them for a reason other than favor.
Note that I don't care how you think the favor change will and/or should effect peoples habits. I only care about the effects you know have happened to yourself and friends. Though if you guess how this change will effect your title gain habits in the future, those might be relevant.

it hasn't. I still ignore them for the most part. only ones i bother maxing are protectors
natuxatu
ditto.. not really interested in maxing titles that require silly stuff like staying drunk or whatever... so no change here in my want to max out titles.
Retribution X
Still don't give a crap. everyone else gives me favor, why the hell should I use my time getting something I don't need, instead of farming the UW for more cash?
Bowstring Badass
Titles are a waste of time other then pvp titles that raise your balth faction.

Just another tool to keep us grinding titles. I don't do them for other people to access UW & FoW.
I can't see how this is a good move for the PvP'ers. At least there was some incentive to gain favour and get your name broadcast across all chat by skill rather than grind. Having favour tied to HoH lead to an increase in the skill level of PvP players as they battle for top spot, a bit of street cred for guilds who win access for their territories, and was useful as a recruitment tool for those guilds. HoH would also act as a feeder system to GvG, so all in all not the best move for PvP, at least in terms of recognition and appreciation amongst the wider GW community.
On the other hand, the PvE community has been asking for a more equitable means of accessing UW and FoW without the PvP tie-in, but i don't see how this is an effective way to do it. Maybe it's a simple tool for Anet to measure player trends to see how many noobs make the transition to veterans, so they can better predict the interests of their player base over time.
A positive side-effect may be the increase in value of ecto's - favour is likely to change hands more often, thereby shortening the time most people will have to do runs. Will likely see an increase for FoW / UW scrolls too.

Still working on what I would have been doing anyhow. No change at all.

It hasn't changed mine at all. I already got to I'm Very Important on my Ranger. Most people who are serious about maxing out any titles only want to max out multiples on one character. If they were of that mindset, they are most likely done with the basic ones. Sunspear and LB are going to be by far the most common as they are easy to farm and they provide a measurable benefit to PvE play. I could see kurz and lux points also being worked on but the max cap is so stupidly high that general public will probably give up FFF after level 4.

It hasn't changed my look on titles at all.
I'm a self confessed title wh*re, and the only reason im chasing titles on multiple characters is to push them forward into GW2.
We don't yet know, but are near enough certain that the unlocks in GW2 via HoM will be character based and not account based. So lets say there's a rather tasty bow or staff that you can unlock with such and such title then id go for it.
I'm certainly not interested in gaining favour for somewhere i don't frequent and have only ever been to once and wasn't that impressed. (hey its an opinion, dont knock it).
Certainly if it helps and I get a title then so what,....im doing it for ME not the bloody world so they can go to a place I don't. I don't care if it seems selfish either. im the one doing the hard work... no one else
I'm not too keen on it being broadcast globally either. I have heard that some people are going "offline" (N menu) to stop the dorks saying congrats..... I say dorks because it may be nice to say well done, but when your getting a 1000 whispers in chat it becomes stupid.

lol im still at my 1 maxed title on all my characters....protector which doesnt even count.
i just get lower ranks of titles instead of grinding for just one.

?
I think the limited amount of time I spent in HA (or 'Tombs' as it was called back then) provided some kind of regional pride which tied it to favor. The titles are entirely individual-oriented thingd that completely divorce them from favor. Though the timing is probably only a coincidence, I've stopped playing gw since roughly the time of the patch and started playing an eq emu. I have like...2-3 weeks until GW:EN comes out to figure out why anyone would play that crappy game. So far I've only come up with one reason to play eq (or at least a free emu):
Someone has a friend who's "ultra-nostalgic" for a crappy game that came out almost 10 years ago and would rather play a crappy game with him than the crappy WoW-emu Anet is making out of GW.
Short answer: Yes, I have possibly less motivation to grind titles than I did before the patch.

Title progress has not changed at all.
For me, the Guardian titles would be nice someday, because I enjoyed playing the missions in normal mode and like the hard mode challenge.
Most titles require huge investments in time or gold and offer little or no benefit in return. Even little bambi gives more benefit than my LC, while time investment for LC is probably much higher.

It hasn't affected me at all. My next big titles are Legendary Guardian and Vanquisher, but right now I'm concentrating on getting all my characters through all the campaigns by GW:EN release.
upier
Nope.
It will effect me if they change it so that individual max titles influence if one can enter FoW/UW.
Until then - I will freeload OR use scrolls.

Not interested in maxing titles before, not going to grind for them now. Grinding is far too boring for me. I just kill stuff.

The change has not changed the way I go after titles at all. I have one character that goes for maxed titles, im up to 19 so far 6 of them are on the list that count but they were maxed before the update.
Out of the 21 titles that count I have already maxed out Survivor, Legendary Cartographer, Legendary Guardian, Legendary Skill Hunter, Sunspear, and Lightbringer. I am working on 7 more but there is no way to really speed up the process considering the cost involved (drunkard/sweettooth) or the mind numbing grind (10 million faction anyone?) with many of them. I have no intention of getting the PvP ones since they consist of either suffering thru RA/TA, micro managing heroes, boring GvG battles, or spending countless hours trying to get into an HA team with no rank. I might go for gamer once GW:EN comes out if the mini games count for it.
I really see the lightbringer and sunspear as being the main titles that will end up earning favor in the long run since they are not to difficult to get and not alot of people go after the same titles on multiple characters.

not affecting me on much i was always working on my titles
now though i can help with favor so thats great since i don't HA

Its not changed a damn thing for me. I'm still not gonna waste my time actually farming SS/LB in Remains of Wotsit to get max rank, at the most i'll get to r8 Sunspear because it gets very steep afterwards. And i'm not gonna vanquish things any faster just because it gets an extra 3 minutes.

I can't imagine that anyone would give a flying **** about favor, especially since scrolls can be farmed. The people who wanted titles before the favor change will continue to grind them, but people who didn't won't be motivated to get them now. This is especially true since each title earned has such a miniscule effect, there are a limited number of titles, and many of the titles take hours upon hours (and, in some cases, inordinate amounts of plat) to acquire. All for the sake of a few minutes of favor? Who do they think they're kidding?
hallomik
This changed nothing in terms of going for titles.
If I'm about to trigger one in the future, however, I'll probably go on alliance chat and tell everyone to watch their screen.

Not at all. I do hunt titles, but not for favour but to get the KoaBD title track on my main character and prepare for Hall of Monuments.
I don't think anyone spends countless days/weeks/months of working on titles primarily to get a hour of favour. That just does not make sense.

MithranArkanere
I still only try 7..9 Sunspear and 3..5 Lightbringer in all characters, and then go for Max titles with a single character.
So it hasn't changed my behavior at all.

Crushedskulls11
Nope, not one bit of change, still taking my time on titles passivly, only few titles that I'm actively maxing out, and the favour change doesn't influence that at all.
