I tried to login tonight for some good questing and got this error:

Your account has been blocked due to unacceptable behaviour. You won't be able to log in again until the block expires. The first few times your account is blocked, you will be unable to log in for a few hours. Continued offenses will result in longer and longer blocks. (Err=45)

What the hell does this mean? I do nothing bad. I don't cheat people. I don't call people names. What did I do last night? Why someone was looking for help on a quest so I went with them. Then I did some solo questing. Then I went and did a mission with some other people. Then I went to bed.

Why the heck is my account blocked?

What was your name? That seems to be the fastest way to get blocked.

Arrrgh! So my account is locked because of my name??? I thought they would just make me change the name if they didn't like it. I didn't think they would lock the account! It's 4 1/2 hours later and the damn account is still locked. How long does the lock last?

This friggin sucks. I wasted $$ on the championship edition only to be locked out of my account b/c someone else decided my name didn't suit them. Not to mention the 30 hours I've put into the game that I am guessing I will have to start over if I ever get logged in again.

In most Temp ban options in other games its normally 24hrs. but who knows.. to my knowledge you do have the added distinction of being the first this has happened too in GuildWars. lol so there is some bragging rights... My advise Read the Fine print in the EULA. they reserve the right to lock accounts for such things. And swearing and lude names are derogatory in general anyway. so why bother, when you know its going to be a problem...

Um, why is it considered a "lude" name anyway. When I was making my character the model I was going by was dressed in a miniskirt and a "bra" with cleavage hanging out in all directions. s-l-u-t is a rather apt description. If people are offended by the word, which, by the way, is acceptable for everday use in our society, then how come they are not offended by the character models which are more suggestive than the name I chose?

And how come other ppl that have had a name problem have not mentioned a locked account? They've just had their character suspended? Why am I the lucky one? And what's with this 24hrs bs? Their own message says "a few hours". Well, "few" generally refers to a small quantity you can count on one had. Here it has been over 8hrs so far and still my account is locked. BS.

dude, grow up. Take responsibility for your own actions. You didn't get suspended because someone else thought your name was offensive, you got suspended because YOU chose an offensive name to begin with.

Have they offered a way to change your name if they deem it offensive, though? Blocking an account is all well and good, but if they don't give you a way to remedy the situation that's kind of silly.
