Great response to the "God" thread people, now how about the races?
Anet did a very creative job throughout the campaigns to create non-mainstream (for the most part - except for the dwarves - if I saw one more movie/game that had just the basic trolls, elves and orcs again, I woulda hurled). And, even with the dwarves, they have done a great job of expanding their storyline and history of the two factions. Albeit until the release of "GWEN" the races haven't really had listed a "skill focus" that portrayed their nature (i.e. the Asura as "magic" users). True, it sounds like in GW2 we will be able to be a different race other then human - but it doesn't sounds like we will have the option to be all of the ones Anet has expanded the storyline around. However, if you had to pick a race to initially go full bore with in GW2; if you had the option of all these listed below; which one would it be? For example, if that race had it's own quest/mission/item/armor path to follow through the game - which one would be your favorite to try out first - even if just because you think that race and/or their history or appearance is cool? Here's the list of the expanded ones we see more then the occasional one of in the GW world (list your first and 2nd choices):
1. Char
2. Asura
3. Human
4. Naga
5. Mursaat
6. Dwarves
7. Norn
8. Centaurs
9. Avicars/Tengu
10. Djinn
...For me personally, I think the "Norn" would be my first choice followed by the "Avicars."
Races - which one are you?

And we don't know anything about the Sylvari, why would anyone know they want to be like them? That's funny. And Avicara are a type of Tengu. I'd like to be a centaur I guess, Djinn seem pretty powerful as well. |

Humans. In all fantasy games I always play humans. Why? You have Humans, who are weaker and less magical that the other races. They are really the most disadvantaged yet they still stand firm agains the likes of orcs, ogres, dragons, magically inclined races etc.
They may not be the toughest, but they stand strong against opposition. And that pretty much sums me up.
