Guess that could make sense, I've not gone near anyone doing this to test. A scam of some kinda would be logical. Trade for an uber expensive mini pet with what looks like infinite money in armbraces=scam. However, in that scam the number of lockpicks is the giveaway?

Whats strange though is that neither the gems or the tormented weapons have dropped a huge amount in price... i mean with this many armbraces of truth out there there should be a bigger effect on the other related items.

Weird... not even a peek from Gaile insisting that the server is safe. But either theres a weird bug going on with Armbraces in the trade window or theres something going on that the devs need to sort out. 1750 Armbraces is not realistically possible to own without been a billionaire eBayer with too much spare time or actually owning all the bots in the game and hoarding hte gold.

Torment weapons fell in price 10e in one day so this is affecting them, not gems though afaik. I have no doubt the stacks are real, it's the way in which they were obtained that worries me. If this was an exploit I think it would have already leaked to the forums as this has been going on for 3 weeks now (started when a kanaxai was sold for 100k+1500e+80arms).
It's simply unreal that someone could make that much trough honest powertrading and that so many unknown people suddenly pop up with 100mill gold in such a short perios of time so there is definately something dodgy going on.

Are you sure that this is just not a bunch of textmod nonsense? I was discussing with my guildies and this seems easily done with the application, resulting in items displaying locally that do not really exist server side.

there are a few people dumping armbraces in high end. nothing unusual though relatively small amount. one dude has 250 for sale but he bought a kanaxi along while ago so most probs sold it for a crazy amount.

OK, so we've got tons of armbraces out there, but no flood of gemstones. Or other valuable commoditites such as ectos/minis.
The only way to get an armbrace legitimately is to trade in 15 gemstone sets.
A server breach would be detected.
It appears that multiple people are aware of whatever this glitch is. I conclude this because of the flood of people attempting to buy things with the armbraces. If it were one player/organization that knew about this, they'd play their cards differently. After all, what has happened in the last few days has made it much more difficult to move the illicit items.
What IS smart about what has happened is that the source(s) waited to bust the floodgates open until an event weekend that ANet would clearly prefer *not* to roll back.
The only apparent cause is that, under certain conditions, one of the Spirits of Truth will (or would at some point in the past) provide armbraces without taking the gemstones.
The only way to get an armbrace legitimately is to trade in 15 gemstone sets.

OK I bought an Ambrace from the guy in the high-end forum with 250 Ambraces. Or so I think I did I'm not sure but after I posted my bid in his thread 3 different people came up to me referring to the same thread and offering to sell me an Ambrace. Didn't realize til reading all of this that there has been a serious influx of Ambraces within the community. I'm worried I'll lose my item or the ecto I spent if Anet decides to do something. Sigh.....Collateral Damage =/

Supposedly during last week's cooling tower failure it was possible to either lose items or dupe items. Any chance someone got wind of it in time to dupe stacks of armbraces?

I have no idea how this is happening but im just gonna say something that just popped up in my mind. I was thinking about that one quest where you bribe the man 2platinum i think, and how you could trick it by dumping the platinum before hitting accept and having it still work. Do you think that they could have done the exact same thing for the armbraces and some person who had time on there hands repeated it over and over until he had crazy amounts? Im starting to go into the no region because 1750 clicking is quite alot, but still :O
