So how does a dervish from elona get to the newbie areas such as shing jea monastery and ascalon? i can get to tyria and cantha just not the newbie areas

Buy or run yourself to Ascalon. For a Derv, it's easy with Avy of Balth.

As for Shing Jea, run south of Kaineng until you hit the Marketplace. Go outside to the Kaineng Docks and there should be a guy there to transport you over to the isle. From there, just run around.

EDIT: Kaineng is not spelled Keining :P

go south from kaineng, to the docks, then go out the east exit and talk to the dockmaster ziou i think. that'll bring you to suitung harbour a 2 min walk to shing jea.

AHA! that shit has been boggling my mind forever

as far as getting to ascalon, the doors from lions arch are blocked/closed

where should i run from

They are? I've never had that problem. Did you finish the quest that gets you to Lion's Arch?

Doors closed? You should talk to some NPCs and get to the Town.
Remember to always talk with NPC with the ! exclamation icon.


Once inside the Town, go North, exit to explorables, and start walking!

That's not Lion's Arch, that is gates of Kryta. You have to talk to any NPC there.
