Mass-Banning

Iv heard a lot of people got banned.. some that havne't even done anything. Take me for instance.. I'm guessing I had duped items.. I got free items from a guldie. As well did the rest of my guild, we had no idea that they were duplicated, but what happned? We were banned, all of us.
The real flaw in doing something like this is doing it like 3-weeks before GW:EN comes out. What they should have they at least done is, ban the accounts temp, delete all the duplicated items and let it go. It's really not fair to the people that haven't done anything, and I personally don't have the kind of money to buy all 3 games again, then going through it. I really don't have that kind of time, after taking a fall like that.

Guild Wars was fun, and enjoyed the gaming experience. Really hope GW:EN does good.. after they banned that many people. Though I really don't know for sure how many people were banned. I just heard from some people that they were banning everyone that had duplicated items on there account. Though, they really forgot to check the part, if the people had the duplicated items, were the ones that duplicate them.

That sucks.

Yeah, well I saw the prices sky rocketting down. So I bought some. I did tell Anet, they haven't even replied yet. My guldies got replys saying, the bans not going to be lifted.

Somehow i dont think these storys are true, PERSONALLY i think anyone that had dupe items knew it when they bought them for 50k. and you would know if your guildie bought them for that much since when ppl do that they usally say "Oh dang mannn i got a sweet deal on these armbraces" blah blah blah

i sent in lots of emails and i got one really mean one back from a gm saying that they where not gonna read any of my emails i just want my account back from this gaint mistake i was also put in..

Well, you have to add in the fact, that you knew them like forever. And the point that if the price of something is going down, your going to buy some of it. I'd call you stupid if you saw something like an ambrace for sale for 50k. BUT if you DIDN'T know that they have been being duped.

Chunky, you already got severely owned in the other thread. You were obviously one of the main sources of this problem, as shown via a screenshot with you offering 7 stacks of 250 armbraces. You're not innocent and deserved your ban. Good riddance.

Anet is not a machine, they have people that can get your account back if you tell them what's up.

I feel your pain, but you should at least straighten out your story.
Lots of people are really angry with the whole dupe thing and players involved in those practices, making 2 contradictionary statements won't help you to win any sympathy.

I'm not saying you are at fault here, but you are on a very thin line here :P

Not trying to win, anything. I'm not asking for my ban to be lifted. I'm just telling it how it is. I already e-mailed them, and I haven't gotten a reply. And Lancsor or whatever, I'm pretty sure you were the first one to notice the exploit... really I do..

Why is everyone harshing on Chunky Monkey? Did you ever think that maybe his account was banned in error. I mean, it's not like he was caught trying to trade 1,750 armbraces or something. Give him a break. Innocent until proven guilty, I say.

I'm not sure why I got banned but I sure as hell didn't buy any arm braces. Maybe it's those few times I got disconnected this weekend and quickly reconnect that tied the knot around my neck. Same for my cousin, even. He also got banned, maybe because he's on the same IP as me.

I'm just hoping my best friend doesn't face the same fate cause I gave him Guild Wars as a present last Friday....

And this will surely become bad publicity for them if they keep the innocents banned, you can be sure of that.
