I'm making a survivor ranger and I'm not exactly sure what I should make it. I can't make it a factions ranger since when my brother set it up, he put it on a different email.

So yea, Elonian or Tyrian? ^_^

Elonian = Faster
Tryian = Harder, IMO, better hair etc, If you want to spend the time on a survivor, have a char you like.

Factions is really the best for Survivor though, my character (Melissa Shadowheart, R/Mo) got the 1st rank in an hour.

Hmm.. so just say I made an Elonian, do you recommend I go get max armor straight away? Or get power leveled or something? And if I made a tyrian.

And what has better looking armor? ( male armor )

Lvl 20 in 1 hour?! Thats pretty impressive.
Yes, factions is the best for survivor, doing all of the profession quests then accepting all the high-exp rewards from togo can lead to a huge intake of points incredibly early. It gets you to about lvl14.

If you want a safe survivor id suggest nightfall over proph. In proph, the pvp example battle as you leave pre searing provides unpredictable opponents = bad news for survivor.

you never know, you might come up against a legendary defender of ascalon, finally leaving pre.

You can log out when you're in the battle apparently and log back in at post-seer. I havn't tried though.

So I just made my Elonian Survivor ranger, should I go get him max armor from docks?

I know, but I'm a bit skeptical about it atm since I've died 3 times because my friend.

"Lets go kill this lvl 15 guy ok?"

"Ok"

When we get there, he pulls him and we die >.>

I suggest that the next time your friend goes: "lets go kill this lvl 15 guy ok?"

you reply: "No thanks, id like to live"

Tried it. It froze my character and stopped me logging in on it again. And I'm going for Survivor on my assassin. Yes, Factions really is fast levelling. Nightfall has far faster levelling than Prophecies but it can also be harder to survive at parts in Elona than it is in Prophecies. If you see any one ferrying to Consulate Docks, take the offer. It gets you to the max armour place.

When running my mule from presearing to post searing, I never fight the PvP as I am always lvl 1 (unless I amd with higher lvl PC's than the enemy). When the count down for the battle commences you log out then log back in and you skip the PvP but have to do the mission with rurik to kill the grawl and charr boss (I forget his name), I wouldnt advise getting a run to droks as a bad spawn can kill your survivour during parts of the run (by that I mean when the runner passes thru a portal sometimes there are monsters that will be aggroed). The best bet is to get a run to LA, nip over to catha and get max armour in kaing city. To get there you just speak to Mehenlo after speaking to the guy who gives you the Skills (Servio I think his name is)to get the quest. The just run into the city before the assassins spawn infront of you)

I made my survivor ranger in Elona. Bought higher armor as it was available. My advice: do every single quest you can find, every followup. The masters may be hard though, especially Assault on Beknur Harbor, so you might want to skip them or ask a friend for help. Just be careful on how much you aggro, what henchies or players you take, and lastly have fun! I found it quite fun to go through nightfall again real slow, to do everything that you can do. Just don't rush it, and you'll be fine. Good luck with your survivor title

PS: Watch out for harpies, they can hit for a lot of damage especially with Keen Arrow

My ranger is currentlyl survivor 1 and on its way to 2, i did make her in Elona and im doing every single quest and follow up, id say the best way to lvl up is to bring Scrolls when you know you are going to face alot of foes, like in the Consulate docks mission, they just keep coming and coming, i got a ton on xp with 2 or 3 scrolls of the lgihtbringer witch u can get at any scroll trader (guild hall is faster if hes unlocked) after i finish nightfall i plan on moving on to faction to get all the 3000 xp quest i can get, that should speed it up, also just get ur max armor at the docks its cheap and easy, a run to droks will get you killed on the second portal, i got a run to droks with my ranger but i made sure i wouldnt die, on the part that they agro i just used storm chaser and shadow form, ran passed the first mob and waited for the runner to finish up, after that u cant die. But u said you dont have factions so i dont know what you can use that would work like shadow form

Make an Elonian one. Eye patch FTW!! Harrr!
But now serious, I made mine in Elona. Didn't even plan on going for survivor, bought max armor blablabla. Just played through the game untill I died for the first time at 257k XP. So that's survivor 1, if you're actually going for it you could easily get a lot more xp and most likely get Legendary.

I'd say Elonian. I pretty much always recommend Proph first for the skill quests, but it's definitely not ideal for someone going for Survivor. You'll also start off with heroes in Elona, so you can send them after monsters too. The henchmen in NF are also better than the ones in Prophecies.

i can clarify that yes, you can exit the game at the onset of the pre-post battle, login and you will continue as if you'd been victorious in the pvp.
