Adding a component for sale will, at most, add it's own value to your item. You may also lose money here as there's no guarantee that you'll sell them combined for their full values. Saying this, adding a 20/20 +30 to anything will increase the attention an item receives, as en mass, guild wars players still hold that as being the only combination to be truly perfect.
Imo: If the base skin is valuable enough to justify an upgrade for sale, then it may be worth adding just for the chance to sell faster (time is money), but if the item is worth less than a potential component combination keep separate and sell for max profit.
