Basically a response to the Survivor title for older characters (since they never got a chance to obtain it).
Yes I know this has been suggested before but never in detail and never on its own.
EMO TITLE. (PVE ONLY TITLE)
Using the EMO Title will sometimes cause your char to change its physical appearance via a mask or held item. They are NON TRADABLE, will disappear once you take title OFF and require the corresponding free storage slot(s) on your char to be viewed)
Rank 1 : 2000 Deaths
Title Name: I'm going to the zoo.
(No effect)
Rank 2 : 4000 Deaths
Title Name: People think I’m happy.
(Happy Clown mask)
Rank 3 : 8000 Deaths
Title Name: I'm not happy.
(Sad Clown Mask)
Rank 4 : 16000 Deaths
Title Name: Everything can be fixed with Ice Cream.
(Char holds a drippy ice cream)
Rank 5: 24000 Deaths
Title Name: The System is Broken.
(all emote commands EXCEPT /resign, /favor, any others that affect game play cease working and cause char to sit down and cry -yes a new emote-)
Rank 6: 32000 Deaths
Title Name: I need a Hug.
(Sad Clown Mask, Drippy Ice Cream, Char will randomly do the The System is broken effect and say random stuff (life is pain life is emo, for example)
Maybe add more ranks, maybe 32000 Deaths is too much, I don’t feel it is personally.
This is FOR FUN and is in no way an attack on so called emos (whatever they may be) more of a nod at a seemingly growing phenomenon.

well i palyed 1,200 hours on my ele, 7000 deaths jsut under.
i seriously doubt anyone will get around 32,000
maybe max at 2000,
or make it liek 10,000 but account wide.
the /cut emote may seem fun but you have to consider children around 9 or 10 playing,seeing a character onscreen or his friend suing this emote. may try to copy.
maybe if costume changed into all black and the likes. and maybe that emo dance form south park or somthing.

I find this title funny. Being that my Necro already has 10,000 deaths I think this is cool. For all those whop complain about people farming this title, the answer is simple. Exempt it from all accomplishments and only make the emotes visible as a reward. Leave it out of KoBD and Favor system, then who cares if someone afk's at a rez shrine so they can have their toon sit and cry when you tell them to dance.

about AFK leveling concering [ii]this[/i] title, perhaps a afk detection script that would boot people out of the game or into the last main city visited after X deaths with ZERO keybord input (does such a thing not exist already?)

Ok i forgot there was no DP in Pre. i guess its a title that would not be available to pre players seeing as the only (?) way to get LDoA is to AFK death level. I suppose the Title could be triggered by a small NPC given quest just after noob island/pre in the way LB/SS titles are.

I would agree with a title that increases with deaths, as long as:
- Deaths with 60% penalty won't count.
- Use more logical names, like 'Martyr', 'Kamikaze', 'Bonzo', 'Suicidal',
- Can't be acquired if character has survivor or Defender of ascalon.

Death titles are stupid. Let me give you a list of work-arounds.
32000 deaths - Go afk in the Realm of Torment after pulling a few mobs
32000 deaths w/ keyboard response needed - Go afk in the Realm of Torment and move occasionally or set up a macro
32000 deaths w/ no counts after 60dp - Set up 3 heroes with Rebirth, get yourself down to 1 health, go afk and let heroes spam res you.
32000 deaths avoiding any possibilty of afking - not even remotely possible
My ranger has wracked up about 4200 deaths. This includes ~700 deaths from leveling 2 pets for my heroes. Lots and lots of runs in NF Jahai where i would start the run by dieing once. 32000 deaths is either completely un-attainable or would just be afk'd and as such a complete waste of time.

There are a few titles that have NO max rank
There are a few titles that require nothing but the occasional mouse click.
If you are going to use macros...well then for starters I’m not sure that’s not considered cheating, and secondly ALL titles heck the WHOLE GAME could be done AFK.
There are more than a few titles that have AFK value only already, yet people like to show them off.(and some do absolutely nothing, not even a cosmetic change...even worse some are actually useful. which is worse IMO but there you go)

If a person kills their char deliberately at the start of every farm run...I think the char would probably be unhappy with his condition.
32000 deaths are very difficult to obtain in a year yes. We are clearly not thinking in the same time-frame. For me obtaining a R2 in treasure hunter has taken 2 YEARS. Yes some people can get it in what...weeks? Kudos to them.
Please be critical if you must, but use arguments that the general playerbase would use, all I need now is for someone to come out and tell me emo title would make people hack into Anet servers with a NSA supercomputer just to obtain it. After all, anything’s possible.
One thing I retain is that you are proposing (it’s a proposal?) to lower the number of deaths for max rank I’m just afraid that lowering the requirement would make people think it’s more easily obtainable via methods you described. How many deaths do you suggest?

I think this idea is ok as long as you make the title names different (even though they are funny) and get rid of the visual changes. This title is way to easy to have visual rewards.

Besides, the only AFK titles are the Lucky and Unlucky, which as I already said, require a huge amount of gold.

You've ignored that fact that every other title requires something from the player. It can be in the form of time, money or both. This title, requires neither.
Besides, Gaile has always persisted that there will not be a deaths title, due to it being too easy to afk.

2. what is the maxed Max title rank? R3? R4? what is commander max title rank? Cobra? and if they are raised every once in a while is that not the same as saying "no limit?" Semantics.
3. As for macros OC its possible.(im not the one who proposed that in the first place) anything is possible.
4. Titles were made to show/reward dedication and no i do not have a problem with it. (re)read what i am responding to.
