Well, I've been thinking of making this for awhile, but figured I'd fish around on the community to find out how many of us (gay males) are out there and how many would be interested in joining.
The Sacred Band of Thebes, historically, was a professional Greek army composed entirely of homosexual couples. They were instrumental in defeating Sparta, liberating Thebes from Spartan control. They were defeated by Alexander The Great's father, when the Macedonians invaded Greece. When the other Greeks fled, the Sacred Band stayed and fought to the death. Philip II of Macedonia said after the battle ""Perish any man who suspects that these men either did or suffered anything unseemly.""
