Disconnected When Deathleveling

reaching the LDOA title is not that hard just takes time, the issue is that's now a couple of times i get disconnected because a new built has been uploaded to the server....

I just come back to find that i lost 8 or 9 str8 hours of deathlvling and can't do anything about it, i mean i was enough bugged by the fact that i get dc after 24 hours of game play just to see that there r new things that kill ur connection and makes u loose all the time and hard work into finding the perfect run before pulling the charrs!!

Please do something about it...

Why?

It is not an exploit because they give you a title for death leveling and it is the only way to reach lvl 20 in pre.

If however they would put another gate and area in that had lvl 20 critters to slay then yes the Death leveling would be and exploit.

Since this has not happened and the only way to fight lvl 20 critters in pre is to death level then it is not an exploit and they designed it that way.

So flame on but you're Pi$$ing in the wind.

I'd say this is related to the duping exploit discovered over the weekend. In order to reduce the damage it could cause ANET was forced to act quickly to block it. This means a quick and dirty fix to kill is ASAP, which causes problems elsewhere (who knows what they had to change to kill reconnects, without time for proper testing). Then ANET can start working on updates to restore any functionality lost with the quick and dirty fix, while making sure the exploit remains closed. This will involve a lot of updates.

Give it a week or so for things to calm down.

This shows Legendary Defender of Ascalon was a bad move.

It "rewards" (?) totally silly unnatural gameplay. We do not need more silly titles, grinder titles...

And this is just another whine about the inevitable consequences of the duping exploit. I would think this is more important than deathlevelling.

how can u decide if going for LDoA is a silly unnatural gameplay? if ppl want to do it because its what they want, be it... i can also say that going for FOW armor is silly if thats the case... everybody has their own way of playing GW so pls respect that

back to topic... anet, i can understand why higaru is upset because
a) death lvling is the only way to get the title
b) time consumed becomes worthless because of disconnection
c) electricity bills ^^ for something that has become worthless due to disconnection

I severly hope by "come back" you mean returned to Gw after leaving your computer idle mid way through a Deathlevel cycle while you were afk Rather than you returned to your PC after being afk and letting your computer Deathlevel you.

I'm sorry, but letting your computer run for 8 hours while you are afk and letting monsters kill you to level them up is unnatural gameplay.

People don't sit and manually death-level for hours.

No one really cares. Death levelling has it's risks... to expect ANet to not release any new builds because someone is afk for eight hours is absurd. You have the risk of disconnects. Deal with it.

As I suspected, external programs and then people wonder why Anet bans them, hehe "Say No to External programs children".

In all seriousness rather than Working on Strange Solutions to other problems (cough favor cough) Anet really needs to do something about the LDoA title, either remove it or make it a practical title that can be gain through normal play rather than farming (which promotes people using Bots, Scripts etc.)

Na, they pull monsters to the rez shrine, when they respawn, they get killed, and the monsters just keep reaggroing when they spawn.

Quit complaining your reasoning sucks.
