Hello,
Well needless to say after having my old family desktop for 7 years it has finally died. And since I will be attended college this year they have decided that it would be best to replace it with a new laptop for my birthday gift.
Now my question is will guild wars even run? I know laptops have come a long way since they were out (I've seen wow and such being played with no issues) but what con's will I be facing, as I'm not that computer savvy and I thought it would be better to ask here first.
Here's the summary:
Model: Dell, Inspiron 1420
Processor: Intel Core Duo T7100 (1.8GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
Operating System: Genuine Windows Vista Business Edition
Video Card: 128MB Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS
Memory: 2GB Shared Dual channel DDR2 at 667MHz
Hard Drive: Speed: 120 GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Optical Drive: CD / DVD writer (DVD+/-RW Drive)
Thanks for looking, Along with this one I'm looking at a couple of other ones also but i'm posting this one for now to see what I'm looking at gaming wise.

Since you have 2 Gigs of RAM and a good processor, I would go with at least a 256MB GFX Card. But don't get a standard PC one (such as 7800GS) and stick it in your laptop, because they produce way too much heat for a laptop to handle.

There is no problem with this configuration, since Inspirons are designed as Workstaion/Gamer-notebooks which are quite powerfull. I own a Latitude D620 which has similar configuration except for the grafic card and GW is playable w/o problems.
Maybe the issue would be Vista, dont know if its possible to run GW on Vista ... maybe I am wrong ...

I run Vista Buisness x86 (32bit) and I can run GW flawlessly
