Weekend Event: Hard Mode in presearing

I know many players would be absolutely nuts over the idea of having an opportunity to farm some serious xp towards LDoA. How about one weekend of Hard Mode in presearing? Of course would need to drop the requirement of level 20 to access hard mode, stop tome drops, and maybe even only add 5 levels (or 50% to current level).

With the max party size at 2 and limited skill sets (tome users should be permabanned IMO) it would sure add some excitement to the grind that is LDoA.

Absent this type of event, or the addition of a level 15 boss (hide him in the depths of the catacombs surrounded by many level 10 shaman even), the LDoA title is really nothing but a test of one's internet connection and willingness to waste energy leave a computer running 24/7 for a couple months. (runon sentences FTW!)

I would like to see it from my own viewpoint (With a lvl 14 perma-pre, and no tomes) but I also realize it is not fair for the people who got their LDoA title with many days of death leveling.

I'd love this even, and there's plenty of precedence for changes that leave one party feeling jipped anyway:

-Donating faction before you got double title points for doing so

-Making a character and dying, without knowing that down the road there'd be a title introduced that you could no longer get

-Only owning Nightfall or Factions but not both, and not being able to max either of the campaign's skill hunter titles

-Trying to advance the Treasure Hunter title after the removal of the Eternal Grove explorable zone chests

-Trying for Tyrian cartographer after they shut down the explorable arenas

but keep the lvl 20 req. Make it special for those who already have LDoA.

I would suggest a 15 lvl req but make monsters lvl 24-30ish, in any case I highly doubt that this will ever happen as the presearing community is so closely knit compared to post and would be more outraged that previous instances of significant changes that affect titles in other ways (survivor, Tyrian Cartographer, etc...)

I dont care what restrictions you place on us in Pre, but we have been neglected long enough. theres been an event in both noob islands but not in presearing, WHY? dont tell me because expireanced charcters cant get there, tell me why you wont give us in pre an event? even if it's going on somewhere else at the same time like the wintersday event, or Holloween.

Please let us know we're worth the bother, and have not been forgotten.

Didn't they say when they made it they would have hard mode in all POST searing areas? Why go back on it, I don't think a basic tutorial should have a hard mode sorry and as stated why make it easy for yourself when other people got it the hard way. Might as well make new harder areas and quests to train at.

Yea with all the exploits to fix and new game coming out i think Anet should take time to implement this

Sorry that was a bit blunt but i'm in rather a cynical mood and i love pre-searing and think it should stay as it is

And also part of the main story line which you can and must return to. Pre-searing is more of a introduction to guild wars and kept separate from it past the point so why make hard mode for the few people who can play it?

If they do make hard mode for it I say make it for level 20's, which wouldn't work because with 5-15 base armor you'd get raped and gg but people couldn't use it to get LDoA.

Hard mode in pre-searing takes the point away from LDoA. The whole point is that you HAVE to die to get it and you are not intended to have both it and survivor. It is also intended to be a difficult grind that would test the patience of a saint. That's the way it is, so //NOT SIGNED.

On the subject of a special event for PRE that has rewards and new quests and things then I think that is a great idea.

And for the person posting this gem :

This is not an impossibility - it's not even the sightest problem. My Level 20 never got to use the arenas either, and for a while I sulked about thinking it was impossible. Then with a little application and good cartographer help you realise that there is way more than 100% out there - even without the arenas. I am at 99.8% now, and I have identified another 2-3% still available in areas that I missed. Sure it takes patience, but which one of the max titles doesn't (well - yeah - someone could just buy the sweet tooth title can't they).

@OP

While I agree with you on some level, think of all those who grinded for months and years to get LDOA. Would it be fair to them if me and you could have it easier? I say keep things the way they are. I may never get LDOA, but those who got it can really say they "worked" for it.

PS:Yes I consider wasting 30-40min pulling charr to the shrine grinding. The fact that you are afk most of the time doesn't make deathleveling "easy" or "fast".

why just 1 weekend?Make it all the time except no monsters above lvl 16.

And no tomes. Maybe a quest that you can get another 2 skills per profession.Thats about all the hard mode i want.

so being fair to those who got their titles with out help? What about when Anet changed how luxon points are earned??? or other weekend events that help players gain titles.

I still feel those who enjoy pre have been forgoten, at best a second thought. I ask YOU Anet when will WE be rememberd?

Normally I let personal attacks on forums slide by but I had to respond to yours. With some reading comprehension skills, you'd see that the list I made in my post was on ways that ArenaNet has made changes to titles that cause disparity in achieving them between groups before and after the change. If you'd been mapping before the change, you could gain an extra 1-2% on your title through exploring the arenas. Now that you can't, that's an extra 1-2% that even you, in all your mapping awesomeness, would have to uncover before reaching 100%.

i'd like to see this, even for a weekend,

as death leveling is comsuming in time, i jsut see it as a lucky title but free. if they made even like this it would seem like a better title.

no min lv.
charr lv. 17-20
it would make me want to make a perme pre ( i want to but ldoa is jsut too much afk-ness)

it may attract some flamers jsut after title that may congregate and jsut moan, ( there are always some in the cities of post, thats why pre is differant)

Just make a quest called ~Bait the Charr Assault, accessible at level 15, after which you gain access to higher level foes at the flame temple, over the wall. This business of somehow 'defending' something by not playing, letting the foes kill you repeatedly, and losing the survivor title is contradictory, and unnecessary. Training the opposing army to make it better is treason, not defense.
