returns...why not
greenreaper3
dont you hate it when this or somethign similair happens....
u see ranger primevial armor, u love it, u spend 2 weeks gettnig supplies and getting through nightfall
(yeah yeah.. 2 weeks?!?! wernt not all rich enough to get whatever we want right away)
u beat abbdaon, u had it muted, u craft the chest... u didnt hear anything...
u tryed again...open invetory, AND YOU DOUBLE CRAFTED! u go insane!!!!!
they should have something like, if u talk to me in the next 5 minutes, or hour or something, u can return the armor for a full refund, or at least cash or something...not sell it for 100 coins...or armor previews... see what the armor looks like on you..
with ur hair style, hair color, skin color, and face and stuff....it would just be so cool.. and also let you preview a dye in that to. incase the dye doesnt look like what you want.

I've never done this, but I can see where it could happen if you're not careful. Maybe confirmation before making the duplicate item or something?
Not high on my list of priorities, I guess, but it can't hurt.

Maybe take a bit more time in the future and wait the one or two seconds for the server to show it in your inventory.

I've never had a problem like this nor have I known anyone who had a problem similar to this one. When I craft an armor set I do something similar to what cdgsax does.

Actually, I don't see why we shouldn't be able to get the full price as well as materials back from an armor if we chose to. If I get bored of one, or a better one comes out, I could just dismantle it and get the new one with the gold.
Its definitely not needed, but I see no reason against it either.

It would be nice to get something back from a 20K+(15K armor plus materials) armor peice. Say, perhaps, over 1K considering how much is invested in it. Not full price mind you, but possibly something over 25% of the creation cost.

I'd like this simply because sometimes my mouse doubleclicks. It's kind of an old wireless thing and the buttons are wearing out. I dont feel the need to replace my keyboard and mouse (they came as a set and use the same wireless receiver) so I'd like to ahve the option of verifying a craft of armor, especially when I spend all day hunting down, farming, and crafting materials for my 15k tats on my monk only to spend half of them on two chest tats.

I like the idea of armor previews. Since that's what you would do when buying any kind of clothes (you try them on 1st before buying), and it would save you from buying a set that wouldn't look as good as you think it did on you.
ShadowsRequiem
I think its a good idea.... you pay 15k for the armor yet selling it to the trader gives you 500 gold....
Armor preview would also help, it sucks to buy that armor then notice after all you dont like it as much as on other peoples characters/screen shots.

Something similar has happend to me before, the armor I crafted was only 1k armor but it was still annoying all the same.

I dont understand what your trying to desribe! You're talking about crafting primevil armor and somehow accidently crafting the same piece(s) twice?
This sound you talk about... is that the sound you get when you craft an object? like a confirmation that an action has took place?
Sorry but thats not Anet's problem if you have either the sound turned off, or you have dont have the sense to keep inventory open when you craft armor or an object.
As you state yourself.
You spend hours saving up the materials for armor, so you also have to assume you would be very carefull when using those materials and gold at the armor crafter and pay attention to what your doing.
I'm signed at being able to buy back individual objects or materials you sell to a merchant as individual objects.
But im /not signed at being able to a crafter object/armor and expect the game to return the materials used. Those materials are gone and used! They no longer exist as individual compounds to return.
Sorry but your situation is the fault of not paying attention and rushing. Its not a fault of the game.
As for being able to see armor before you buy it...
..thats why we have guildwiki.net/armor to preview these things and check them out. You cant complain you didnt know what you were buying when we have a resource that shows every armor and weapon ingame.

This would also be useful for when you sell... black/white dies to the merch, or ecto and other rare materials (I remember selling 20 ecto to a merch after a UW run).
A11Eur0
Personally I'd hate to have to confirm every sell after a farm run or mission...and who's to say only confirm high dollar arbitrary cost items? If you're worried about selling your 20 ecto...hit the storage first. Move the stuff you want to keep first, then sell off the rest.
MithranArkanere
They should have checkboxes and purchase carts in merchants and traders, like you have in Online shops.
You put things to cart, you have time to doublechekc, consider, see what you are going to get, the hit buy.

first of all i agree that we wont be able to get the materials back since its no longer use but the idea of selling back your armor is useful since many players gets lag buying armor and double click and a confirmation box is useful here.
second it is areanet job to help players so why not add a refund just for the amount of cash you spend in it. Trust me i have seen people buy 2 sets of fow because of lag or double miss click, it really makes no sense in having 2 of the same armor so why not add a refund button

Add a confirm button to craft.

hey if i can buy something why not return it
arcanemacabre
Actually, return is a good idea, but make it so that you can only get a refund on anything that is otherwise not used (so if you apply dye, or add a rune/insignia, no go), and the refund option goes away once you zone, even if it's to another district of the same town. You wouldn't need a time limit applied as long as these stipulations were present.

lol, id like to see some poor soul do this when crafting FoW armor, shouldn't be a problem for the high end EOTN gloves (like chaos) though cause its just one piece of armor ^_^
But in all seriousness, thats not a half bad idea, at least the preview part. Whenever I buy any high end armor, i take the time to watch the stuff appear in my inven and click slowly, one by one enjoying every second :P

Well, this has actually happened to me before, but it was a 1k (sunspear or istani, can't remember which) armor piece. I always do what others have said, having inventory open and wait for the piece to appear in the inventory, but the time it happened, I hit a lag spike and didn't know it. I clicked buy, waited a few seconds and didn't see or hear anything, so I clicked buy again. That's when the lag caught up and bam - two of the same piece.
Luckily, as I said, it was a 1k piece and no big loss. Still, I can see how this could happen with lag. Sure, a confirm dialog box could work, except you'd have to apply it to armor and weaponcrafters only, otherwise buying keys, dyes, materials, etc would be a HUGE pain having to hit "OK" everytime.

Add a cancel button to merchant pannel.
If you give by mistake some bills to some merchant, i will never say "to late its mine now !"

but refund? just no.
If you make the mistake once, fair enough, it's a mistake. Learn from the mistake and move on. I don't think anyone would make that same mistake twice, and if they did then they deserve it for not learning from the mistake the first time.

Urg another unrealistic idea. Well be more careful then. There are more issues that need to be fixed not just giving more option to GW. It has a very shitty lags already! No thanks!

Either add a confirmation button, either a cancel one. Which would be better, since it would be tiring to confirm again and again, we dont make so much mistakes.
Canceling our last buy/sell action would be great. Im sometimes apprehensive to sell one of my rare weapon.
