And, I can also see if you have to map into a new area after you have attracted the attention of a few hundred monsters, and you have to get through quickly. Getting 8 people to aggree before running through might be just a few seconds to long. Same idea as above, but in a running sense. If all 7 other players had to agree with the runner to zone to a new area, I can see the runner dying very quickly. Often they get long trails behind them of enemies where the only way to escpe them is to quickly scoot through the instance. Not to mention the AFK factor of simply waiting for someone to get back and everyone standing round spamming /bored. ![]() This is still a very good idea though, those were just a few issues I could see cropping up that might need to be addressed in the way this is implimented. |

/SIGNED!! One of the best ideas I've seen in Sardelac in a while now.
Add some type of visual to the Party Window. Perhaps turn the character's bar green when they are "ready", or add a little green up arrow on their bar. Basically, something permanent on the screen so everyone in the group will know at a glance who is ready and who isn't. The chat line of "Player X is ready to go" is nice, but if you're in a busy town with lots of chat it could be difficult to see who is ready and who isn't.
This is soooo needed for many reasons.
- I was in Kaineng Center a few weeks ago selling my stuff. I partnered with a buyer and after the transaction was complete, my buyer immediately warped to LA, dragging me with her. I had a 10-15 second countdown, but was unable to leave during the countdown and she wouldn't halt it.
- Zoned into Nahpui Quarter. Wanted to pug the mission for fun. Had a junk test build on my bar. I accepted a random invite from someone who had a 3/8 group. The pug filled up extremely fast and the leader warped in while I was yelling "WAIT!!! FIXING BUILD!!!!" (I know, I know, I shouldn't have joined until my build was rdy)
- In temple of Ages. Joined a FOW pug. Spent a lot of time discussing builds with the team and making sure everyone had a good build set up. Leader says "Ok, everyone make sure you have keys." I didn't. I run off to storage to retrieve keys. Leader then warps in immediately. I was a bit annoyed. I mean, come on, why even ask about keys if you aren't going to give us a chance to get some.
- Pre-Searing. Yeah, enough said there. See one of the Perma-Pre kipnapper threads for more detail.

This simple addition would make team forming simple and painless.
No longer would we have to repeat "ready" each time the party leader asks, which of late is some 20 times before everyone responds. I especially like the addition of the "Party Bar" changing colors for those who have answered.

I almost think Anet might have something like this planned for EoTN. I read that the Polymock and Dwarven boxing games are supposed to be playable while you're waiting for the group to form. It would be cool if you could click the "ready to go" button and then play a few rounds of a mini-game while the rest of the group came on board.
Regardless, it's a very good idea.

Great idea. It is helpful all around. I have been dragged out with empty skill slots, missing keys, weapons etc. all because someone is in a rush. It would also help whoever is in the lead spot, not accidentally do that. It is often hard to keep track of who is ready and who isn't. Just color code the bar in the party formation window. Green for ready, red for not.
