Porn, Gold Selling, and other crap I keep seeing

Anyone else think that it is ridiculous the amount of porn and gold sellers on guru atm? It's annoying when I look down the thread lines and I see like 7 forums, with the number one post about porn or gold selling, and each message is exactly the same. Does anyone know how to fix this, guru mods, or regular members?

I agree with you - possibly the implication of one of those " type in the code - 123RHS" thingies might help ? " Jessica Albon Swimsuit pics!!!!1" - its obviously a dodgy link designed to put spyware on your PC.

Well idk what they have implemented now, but i think everytime a sertain keyword is part of a thread title, it should be flagged and a mod should be alerted. As for me, i try to report these posts. Theres a red arrow in the bottom of a post right below a persons info/ avatar: . Lurn 2 uze its leetness!!!11!

In other forum's I browse they stop new posters from posting links or pics until they have posted a certain amount of times. Generally it either 3 posts or 10.
It's possible, as these forums use the same software as Guru does.

It would get rid of the porn spam. All that will show is a message, something along the lines of this:
"You are required to post xx amount of times before posting a link or picture"
In the forums that have used this, the amount of spam doesn't drop but it does stop people seeing porn pics etc
Very good solution for a PG13 forum.

Very good solution for a PG13 forum. Actually I think thats a newer version of forum software then this one currently has, because the idea has been thrown around a bit past the admins. My assumption is that it costs money, and the money is currently being focused on a new server or server upgrade.
As for all the porn/ad links you see, remember this. each time someone posts in it, it gets bumped back to the top of the forum, and more people see it, and they bump it up too. Its frustrating, but people dont really listen. Please, if you dont like to see these, then just report the post and DONT POST IN IT. We delete them as fast as possible, but the mods capable of banning them from posting are not on 24/7, and us normal mods do what we can to keep them at bay. Just report it and walk away. Every forum section has many advertizement deletions per PAGE. Its a ratio of like 1/10 posts being adverts some nights.
Some names are added to the wordfilter, but some things just cant be filtered before becoming an inconvenience to the forum users as well. Dralspire is constantly adding new words to it, if i understand correctly, and is working to eliminate the advertisement problems, but you have to understand that being such a large and successful forum (yes im biased, but look at numbers), we are a prime target for people who want their voices heard...appropriate or not.
The best you can to do to help is use the "report" button and not post in the thread. that way, we get an email about it, and can delete it as soon as we see it.

We over at STG were getting more than our share of spam or ad bots usually 4 in 1 night that is untill we started using the image to register users and the fact the PhPBBFully Modded came out with very secure feature that prevents this.They are just bots

Tried becoming a mod a couple times, never happened. Turns out to be a good thing. Would have probably ended my spamming days. 
On another note, there have been alot of them, but so fair I would like to commend the mods and admins on cleaning them up quickly once they are reported.
