hey all.
for no apparent reason when i open up my guild wars .exe (its a clean .exe, not been played around with at all) i get to the log in screen and when i type my password it'll get stuck on the connecting bit.
i have once or twice got the error 058 message, after a quick search it came up with a network error or something like that, but i have not changed anything or messed about with my firewall (sygate pro btw.)
can anyone lend a hand ? its been working fine for months, apart from the frequent disconnects/reconects due to my dodgy wireless (however the internet is working fine atm as i am posting this.)
Is everyones guild wars ok ? i can't conenct for some reason?

oh and btw, this is a new error i have been stuck with it for about an hour, i noticed as well that the newsbox on the right does not load up anymore, meaning possibly it cant connect to the gw servers. but afaik there is no downtime planned anytime soon.

i have seen some suggestions about redownloading guild wars....

please delete, redownloading the dat file seemed to fix it.

Hey I have the same problem but it happens to me every day,I also tried on 3different computers and still have the problem.Do someone know a faster way

Guys, you might want to go into your router and exempt GW from your block lists. Also Norton has a habbit of causeing this error after a GW or Norton update so add it tot the exempt list there too if you are using Norton. I beats Deleting and reistalling

ok just to say, i have got the error again.
i was on earlier, i managed to switch to the us servers as the european servers were down or something.
however i just cant connect to guild wars now.
i have made sure gw is allowed in my firewall and made sure the router werent blocking it.
i dont want to resort downloading the client again as it takes a while, as it only get a max of 150kb on my 16mb connection.
i have tried searching for answers but i cant seem to find anything of help.

Same here,and I dont have it bloked and I am using NOD32.
But I have another interesting fact,it seems that it happens only to SOME accounts!Because my father is playing Guild Wars like 1year and it never happened to him but when I log on his computer and then close GW I cant log in again untill I redownload :-(.
And the worst thing is that my connection is 300kb and downloading max 26kb.
