Jade Flats and Fort Aspenwood suggestions for fairness and game interest

I have never been able to do Jade Flats that I remember. Not one time that I have been there do I remember doing anyting except watching the words scroll by that no opposing party joined. I have managed to join Ft. Aspenwood on both sides, and even map the area by scraping before battle was really joined. I always feel bad about that. I go in - hold to the last, even after others map out or leach, and give it everything I can. Especially since it is a good place to use some PvP style builds. But there are a few things I would like to see done:

1) Increase interest in the Jade Flats mission: Maybe increase Faction benefit by 50 percent if you have done one within 3 to 5 times of doing the other.
2) Decrease interest in leaching: If a character does not:
  • Move within 1 minute intervals after start,
  • Target within 1 minute after start,
  • Target in 30 second intervals after start, or
  • Execute a skill within 30 seconds of start or last completed execute -
then remove that player and any of their accrued faction and replace them with AI Hench, of same class, designed for the mission.
3) The minute a person disconnects or maps (griefs) remove any Faction they might have for having been there and replace them with AI Hench, of same class, designed for the mission - unless the system reconnects them.
4) Create an access button on the Party Formation window that allows one to access these two areas, and Vizunah Square, for the purposes of mapping them without screwing up someone else's mission or placing the persons cartography interests at odds with team success.

Yes they are dead, but it seems no matter what they do the interest just isn't there.

Jade Flats is the entry area to the Jade Quarry competitive mission staging ground. It is a location in Cantha. Aspenwood Gate is the equivalent for the Fort Aspenwood competitive mission.

The fact is there is a rather large chunk of map that we cannot get to as players because no one is playing. Further, it is indecent to merely go in a competitive misison where others are depending on your participation and map while they compete. It would be appropriate for competitive and cooperative mission areas to have an additional button on the Party Formation window [Charting] for those who need to chart the region for Cartographer but do not wish to undermine others efforts in their mission. It would also be nice given that these areas are only available if 15 other people want to compete in them. There is never a total of 16 persons intersted in competing in the Jade Quarry mission.

Ok movement i get i'm constantly moving in Ap Targeting (Enemy ally?) I don't quite understand because a leacher could create a program that not only hits the join game but also one that hits V or C continuously (Or they themselves can if they arn't machines...) And execute a skill within 30sec? What about us melee types? sometimes we only have skills that target enemies only and because we arn't allowed in and sometimes cant get to an enemy in 30 sec i would be very sad not to be able to play....

Tok153,

Been away a couple of days, sorry to get back to you so late:

If you notice: I said target, not who was targeted. A melee type that targets himself has targetted. If you are using a skill, it generally has a target or either self, other, or both. What I am suggesting is along the lines of if a person doesn't leave the staging area they are out. If they leave the staging area where we started, and then stand there and don't play they are out.

And I have seen people load in just to grief, not just leach. That our fellow players sometimes are no better than schmucks in kindergarten is a different problem. Part of the way to slow down the griefing is if you are not alligned with that side then you can't enter.

Jesusruns,

It is in having a set up that encourages players to enter a competitive mission when they have no interest in being there for the mission. When 3 of 8 people enter only to map the area, it is not fair to the 5 people who need their support in that competitive mission.
