WHat do you think of this avatar of Lyssa Build?

Hi guys,
I've been using this build recently with alot of success. I'm often the last one standing in PUGs dealing good damage with good health and energy regen.
I use a Zealous scythe to gain extra energy for a few secs if I'm waiting for skills to recharge. I never have to wait more than a few secs tho.
Avatar of Lyssa{E}
Faithful Intervention - bit of regen
Eternal Aura - to recharge dervish skills including avatar
Zealous renewal - dmg + energy
Lyssa's Assault - dmg + energy
Flame Djinn's Haste - big fire dmg
Inferno - Big fire dmg
Mystic Regeneration - good health regen.
Any comments?
thanks alot

You need to drop the crap - namely, the Fire spells - and take some timed attacks.
[skill]protector's strike[/skill][skill]mystic sweep[/skill][skill]eremite's attack[/skill]... should never leave a Lyssa bar.
Also, before Coloneh says it... you need res.

NO U need rez.
But yes, Protector's, Eremite's, Mystic are all a must.

Hi guys, thanks for your quick replies. Obviously very different to my build. I cant see them doing as much dmg though. I take fire skills as they have around 100 dmg and with lyssa can be cast quick. eremities and mystic are only going to do like 40 dmg arnt they? Also why do you both use the attacks against running foes. I am usually in the middle of the fight and more foes stand and fight than run so why not concentrate on the majority instead of the ones who run??
thanks alot, look forward to your answers. I'm off to try more builds

Believe me, the build I posted definately ISN'T lacking in damage, for a start melee has higher DPS than spells.
Theres also the fact that you're attacking every 1/2 - 3/4 seconds with a massive +damage bonus whenever you catch a skill.

Spell damage sucks, the base damage on the scythe is already super.
You bring timed attacks with Lyssa, not for whatever effects they bring, but so you can catch skills and deal the lovely bonus damage.

hi, thanks for clearing that up for me, I've removed my spells for now. I probably do know, but to make sure what do you mean by bonus damage when "catching" skills?
thanks

While you're under Lyssa, whenever one of your attacks hits someone who is activating a skill, you do a massive amount of additional damage. The point of using several spammable, low activation attacks is to maximize the amount of times this occurs.

You don't need a res, i've had this debate before... especially if your the only melee in the team since your the 1 likely to be running in first taking all the agro.
Although i had forgotten about Protectors Strike. I'll have to go buy it, will come in handy with Warmongers Weapon.

from the OP. reason enough to take rez imo.

I ignored the last 1 standing comment because it was probably down to the fact he's taken Flame Djinns Haste, giving him a 33% speed boost which tends to make anything in normal mode ignore you. And also if your going /E or /W, because Wild Blow and Protectors Strike are popular choices, then been the last 1 alive frequently means 1 of 2 things. The pugs your with suck if they keep dieing so much, or your simply not doing enough damage to kill fast enough.
Rangers will probably be the last 1 alive. Dervish's should be getting stuck in. Coloneh
alright ill add my 2 cents.
1. you need a rez(yes im predictable) 2. drop the fire. inferno is always crappy and if you need a speed boost try rush or Pious haste 3. take a look at the casting time on the attack skills the others suggested. then take a look at what lyssa does. see the advantage there? those are some pretty powerful attack skills when your getting around 80 bonus damage. 4. i would suggest exactly what ibreaktoilets suggested except replace harrier's grasp with eternal aura in PvE. |
