While we are at it, why not give a headpiece to monks?
Sujoy
I mean if everybody gets to complain about armor, I want to share my idea for a new monk headpiece. Now I know I will prolly get discouraged, but hear me out : I have a monk with braids, and I never get to his uber tattoo... So why not give monks a hoodie? Now I know Dervs have that, but make it look different, make it so it covers everthing cept the bottom mouth and chin, which would give a more sinister and wise feeling to any monks.
What say^^?

They could have facial tattos like Dunkoro's and Luxons.

That would be a start, it would have to look cool for sure, something like a scar, though I doubt a monk should have a scar, since they are SO good at taking care of themselves . I wonder if it could be a parka looking headgear, since we are entering GWEN and the Shiverpeaks...

How about something akin to Laurel Wreaths or olive wreaths? Ancient roman royalty headgear, can be adapted to a healer profession. heal and divine favor wreaths could be organic...smiter and prot wreaths could be of a more synthetic nature, such as processed tin or other metal.

I'm all about monk headgear I can see. My monk has thick hair; I didn't bother upgrading her headpiece after getting something with properties/an armor rating I liked because it wasn't worth spending the 15k on something I couldn't show off. XD
It's sort of disappointing. Other classes with tats/markings have the option for runes on their face or something along those lines, so /signed. Even if they just got something generic like a headband or floating jewel, it'd be better than nothing.

For any alternative to a scalp tattoo.

The wreath idea is genius. Hoodie... no.
Facial tattoos would be harder to implement I think because of the different faces.

It would rob some uniqueness away from the Necro though...
I think the reason why I forgot about the Necro is cause mine never has the scar pattern on her face.
pamelf
Well both necs and monks can have tattoos, so why not facial scars?

How about whip marks on their backs? Or does it have to be face/head area? If it is face/head, then the whole shaved head or braid is pretty much representative of a monk already. I guess some wore hoods. What sort of monks are we talking about, Western or Eastern philosophy monks? It wouldn't make sense to have a shaved head/braid AND a hood, because that would mix the two. But if we are going for hoods, maybe beards would be good too.

Starsky-sama
/signage.
something different (hybrid of some sort), but again the rit already exists.
maybe in GW2 something would be done by then.
