I've been trying to farm him in HM, with pretty good sucess. But I'm looking for some tweaks. I am using the following build:

9 Str
11 Sword
16 Tactics

[skill]gladiator's defense[/skill][skill]riposte[/skill][skill]deadly riposte[/skill][skill]Flail[/skill][skill]whirlwind attack[/skill][skill]sun and moon slash[/skill][skill]galrath slash[/skill][skill]dolyak signet[/skill]

OQATERqWZiuYwgwgvaHcq5vItAA

Not an awesome build, but I've tweaked someone elses to what has worked well enough for me. Basically run out and aggro the bunch and pull back and let the shrine healer keep me alive while I kill each of the the melee guys. No big news there.

But i'd like to do it better. I've seen a couple of W/N at the Aurios Mines, but they never respond to my questions.

I've killed Milthuran probably a 100 times and only gotten 4 of his staffs and no elite tome yet. I probably get killed 1 out of 10 times due to spike damamge.

So any advice on how I could do this better? Or even if there is an easier necro boss to farm in HM in short fast runs that doesn't require flagging off henchies.

looks like almost same build as i use, maybe even with more firepower lolz ;]

w/n's perhaps with grenth's balance + ripostes build.

i myself use wary stance vs assassins (since wild strike is unblockable now)
you can put 'for great justice' for spamming ripostes.

i guess it's the fastest to kill necro boss ever made, i do one run in about 1-2 minutes max (+30 secs when rit is there).
that's not much tbh (well compared to 45 secs farming ritu boss... maybe it is)

make sword 9, and put some more to strength

i use:
glad's, riposte, d.riposte, whirlwind att., standing slash, dolyak, wary stance, heal siggy

I didn't use standing slash because I never seem to have a stance up when it comes time to use it, as many of my stances get stripped while fighting. Kinda the same reason for not having wary stance as it never seemed to provide me with enough bang for the buck. Heal signet never proved to be good for me as it kills your armor class, even with Doylak up, and takes too long, I typically get hosed while casting due to the less armor and already lower health.

I had thought about FGJ but the 25 sec of useless recharge has kept me from trying, but I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the input.

when you see assassin coming you put up wary stance and get yourself few seconds of security, didn't try with the buff of wild strike yet, gotta give it a go and note what to change ;]
i used standing slash for low adrenal cost attack. if you lucky, assassins should die in 1 glad's + few ripostes.

earlier used flail to kill displacement faster (note - don't attack displacement itself unless you want to load adrenaline, else it takes too long).
heal sig is for emergency situations only, covered with glad's or wary is not that painful.

yet at the very beginning i used final thrust. what is more, barbarous slice is a better (imho) choice than galarath/silverwing - at 9 sword it does 4 dmg less for 2 adrenaline swings less

edit: yeah my build works good with 2a 1w + milthy. wary s. gives you 5-8 seconds of 100% glad's then its' 75% to block lead attacks.
edit2: yeah no problems with ritu, tho the time required goes up to 2 minutes. no deaths on my side occured, maybe when i talk too much and stand in one place for few minutes or run too far... you can put FGJ instead healing sig for riposte spam (yeah i repeated myself :P)

Yeah I did try FGJ and I am liking it quite a bit, just need to time it to make it useful. I typically ignore the Sins, I'll either target Milthuran or Warrior and just start spamming, the Sins just die on their own.

I've never been able to kill the Rits. I get them down 20-30% and then they just heal. And because they don't do melee attacks the ripostes don't do any damamge to them.

I'm up to 9 dropped green staffs and still no Elite Tome, you guys get any elite tomes?

Are you guys farming NM? Im new to green farming.
Im using a scythe warrior, the build is:
[skill]Warrior's Endurance[/skill][skill]Power Attack[/skill][skill]Counterattack[/skill][skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill][skill]"Watch Yourself!"[/skill][skill]Lion's Comfort[/skill][skill]Dolyak Signet[/skill] Aura Of Holy Might

Its pretty much just a gimmick build but I found it works better than a riposte build as you can kill people who are not attacking you. Also With a scythe I ca wail on the rit his spirit and another at the same time ^^. Got 3 staffs in 10 runs ^^, mabye Im just lucky.

I will look in the PC forum but anyone know how much they are worth?

I played around with him in HM last night with a variation on the W/N Wingmender build. Had about a 50% success rate, but when he went down, he went down fast. Got one blue scroll in 7 or 8 kills. I'm going to try again tonight and I'll post anything relevent or just give up.

the ripostes build that was posted (either ForgeWhelp's or mine) works nice in HM and allows to clear all of his melee friends (ritu is waste of time, unless you got something to stop him from wailing/nightmare + displacement).

earlier had nice drop rate (few nice golds drop, usually runes tho), got few greenies (not worth, unless for heroes or low lvls). got lots of necro tomes from him + few fow/uw scrolls and his greenies.

works like charm, no deaths on my side (unless it's 2 wars + assa and milthuan wands at first might be tricky but still not lethal). 1-1:30 with melee only, 2-2:30 with ritu.
