Hi everyone i have a question to ask....

hi please help me with this people the thing is i bought guild wars factions and nightfall. i spent 74 euros so i dont wanna risk anything. my laptop has the following settings:
DELL Inspiron 8500
Windows XP Professional
Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz
512mb RAM
Direct X 9.0c
Nvidia Geforce4 4200 Go (Dell Mobile)

i have broadband internet conexion and my sound card is of 32 bits. im not really sure though. please help me i dont wanna still the game and realise it doesnt work. i havent opened the game so i can give it back if its not worth it. is it worth it or not?? THANKS

The next time you post a topic, post it in the right board, Technicians Corner as Keithark said, and make your thread title informative, such as "Will my laptop run GW".

It CAN run guild wars, but it will have very low fps. You can try by downloading the game(you can do that for free, but you cannot play it, you need an account, that's actually what you bought ) and look at the log in screen. If that is acceptable framerate, it might run gw acceptable as well.

Anyways, maybe if you bump up your RAM to 1 gig, it should run alright when you're plugged in. If you wanna play without your charger.. well lets put it this way..

My laptop has quadruple your ram and I'm pretty sure it's dual core, and running on the best internet possible (although it is wi-fi, so that get annoying sometimes..) and I still can't play unplugged...

also you might want to try and get a buddy key for one of the campaigns...and see how that goes before you use your "game key" there is a thread somehwere for buddy keys. which is a 14 day (10hr) trial key

Okay a Few things..

1) Please spell and punctuate properly as it will receive better results. If you really can't spell for crap, then Download firefox, it has a built-in spell checker..

2) Just because your question doesn't recieve an answer in its proper section of the forums, does not constitute as a reasonable excuse for posting the topic within the improper forum.

It's much better to learn this now, as it will save a good flaming later on.

Notskorn, you are right, my video card is very bad i can't really buy another one. Coridan thanks for the advice i do have a friend with that buddy card and maybe i can try it, thank you very much .
As for you mister i know how to spell IMAU ill tell you a few things without insulting or anything, its just to let you know.
1) Im from Spain so English is not my first language, i came to this forum to ask about the game, just to let you know many people have told me to come here. Its a very nice forum as i can see with very nice people, not like you, i meant nice people. I just wanted to ask and pardon me if i broke the forums rules.
2) Please dont tell me i can't spell crap, when you cant either. To let you know mister, RECEIVE is spelled RECEIVE not "recieve".
3) Read before you write it will help you a lot i first posted here without knowing and after they told me that it was not supposed to be here i posted it in the other THREAD.

1) Yeah, I was never insulting your ability to spell, I was simply saying that if you don't want to spell correctly, get Firefox so you don't have to..

2) I have no idea what you're talking about...

3) I'm not tracking your exact movements, but the way I was reading the thread I understood it as:

a) you posted in the technicians area.

b) Your thread did not receive any answers.

c) You can over here and made a thread..

If this is not the way it occurred, it's nobodies fault as there are various ways in which everything could have occurred. I'm not looking at every post you make, and monitoring dates and time.. Frankly I could care less...

You are no different than any other "newb" to the guru forums, and everyone has to learn these things. It's not like I'm targeting you specifically.. Frankly I'd be doing you a disservice by not tell you to spell properly, or to post in the correct thread...

Last thing: Seriously, I don't want to be mean, but there is no nice way of saying "You can spell for S*** or you can't read the rules.." And if you know of a better way, please share.. I just want to help you improve the way you ask questions so you:

1) Don't get screamed at (Flammed) for spelling or posting in the wrong thread..

2) obtain better answers to your query faster..
