Chose my new graphics card!
Timstown
Alright, I need a new video card, no doubt, my computer runs Guild wars at about 9-14 FPS on low detail. Anyway, i want to change this by getting a new graphics card.
My computer has a 2.80ghz processor, 756mb of ram and a 250 watt power supply. IF you want to know more abotu my computer click here and here., only thing different is that I have more ram. Now, there doesn't seem to be many video cards that will work with a 250w power supply, all I could find was the FX 5200 which apparently stinks. So this leads me to think that maybe I should get a new power supply, so I was considering this one, what do you think? Is there anything I need to look for in a power supply? So, tell me, is there a good video card that will work with a 250 watt power supply or should I get a better one? I would like to achieve 30 FPS with an average of 20-27 FPS running most of the time. If I can achieve more then that, that'd be great but I don't know if I can with my computer.
Thanks in advanced!
Edit:
OH yeah, I have an AGP and PCI slot but no PCI-E

Just get the official recommended card that ANet recommends:
NVidia 5700
OR
ATi 9600
This means (cuz i emailed tech support) 30FPS at 2048x1024 rez and higest graphics detail.
Question answered.

Wow, i just found it for $50 on newegg!
MasterPatricko
That's good enough for Guild Wars. But if you are planning to play other, more new games, look into buying something like a nVidia 7600GS or a ATi X1600Pro (GDD3 version) - they are the best value AGP cards on the market ATM.

The 7600GS isn't very power hungry so it should work, but that depends on how high quality the PSU is - cheap power supplies have been known to break far below their supposed maximum power output.

No more worries abotu the PSU, I think I'm gona just buy one. This should do, right?
lordpwn
Don't buy a PSU for for less than $50-$100 if you want it to last. Most of the $20 junk has very bad voltage ripple that could make the computer unstable and may decrease the lifetime of other components - not that this would really matter since the crappy PSU itself is likely to die after a couple of years.

Not much difference there, except the EVGA card comes with a two-year warranty and has a small fan cooling it, while the Gigabyte one has the usual 1-year warranty and is passively cooled by a big heatsink.
If you have a well-ventilated computer case the passively cooled Gigabyte card might be nice. If you're not sure about that get the EVGA one.

I've bought x1650PRO 512MB 2 weeks ago and my fps is about 70-110 on high details , I got a power suply of 350W. but the rest Is not that good , only 1,7ghz CPU , 1GB RAM.
My opinion is x1650PRO 512MB 8x AGP.
Only 100€
Or 67£

nvm, the non pro version is cheaper
Timstown
So how about the non pro version? Only difference I see is the memory clock speed, should I just go pro or what? This is so annoying, I'm like $20 short from having ordered a video card already.
Timstown
After reading some review, I think I'll go with the non pro version, sound good?
Timstown
Ok.. I'm all ready to order it, i have the money... But.. I'd like maybe another opinion.. anyone?

I spend days trying to find just the right card, then I go to order it from Newegg. I'm a couple dollors short but I eventually remember that I can just send $5 from another paypal account, so I do. Then, I go to order and.....
"We apologize that we are not able to authorize payment for your order now."
Typical...

That is all well and good, but you really need to stop double and triple posting.

If anyone knows of any other good sites that except Paypal and have the x1650, please let me know. Newegg is a no go
Fr_3_aK
If you're short on money get a X800GTO (make sure it says GTO not GT), they're cheaper and better than x1650.
lordpwn
Just note that the Radeon X000 series, unlike the Radeon X1000 series, does not support Shader Model 3.0 (just 2.0) and will not run some newer games properly even though the card might be otherwise fast enough.
