help with my XP, it wont work

hey,

earlier today my computer shut down,then reset 5-6 times in 10 secounds.

then when i continued on 10 min later it haqppened again, now i cant go 1 min with out this cycle occuring.

its also making a squaking sound, cant even run it in safe mode

any help?

Sounds to me like you might be having serious hardware issues if it wont even run in safe mode.
When you say it reboots every 10 seconds how far does it go before it reboots? Does it get to the Windows logo or not?

yes it gets to windows logo then i log in then after bout a minute it just goes off

I solved a similar problem a few years ago by just formatting the disk, you will lose everything but yeah.

Could be a virus, although from memory the blaster virus reset your computer after 5 minutes.

Much more likely to be a hardware problem from the description though.
