I have questions on crafting materials + some

Hey there, I havent posted in a long time, possibly 6 months. So, I need some more help now. Having a level 12 warrior/elementalist, and a level 3 elementalist/ranger, I need some guidance.

Do I really need all of the crafting materials? What do I do with them? I mean, I have so many of them, I just sold 101 wood planks, made 404 gold, because I had no idea what else to use them for. So, what is the point of most common materials. So, keep them, or sell them?

And, how can I obtain a better weapon? I have had the same one since I started. Now, I would like to know hwo to get a better one, then a drop from a monster?

Yes, you should keep your crafting materials, as you may need them later on to craft items/armor. There's a tab for crafting materials in your storage so there is really no need to sell them as they don't take much space.
You can get a better weapon by buying one from another player, a drop from a monster, or by collectors.

I don't sell any materials unless I have a surplus. (>250)

You never know when they may come in handy.

put them in material storage.
