I think the earthquakes swallowed all the bots

I went to Kamadan this morning in search of lockpicks and saw oozes and rats and was told that the recent earthquake activity had brought them to the surface. Then I went to Altrumm Ruins and there were no bots there. None. I thought it odd so I decided to check a few other places...

Chebek Village -- no bots
Granite Citadel -- no bots
Elona's Reach -- no bots
Marketplace -- no bots

There is strong argument in my guildhalls about what has happened to all of them. Our leader seems to think that the Asuran engineers (with their exceptional intelligence) have found a way to create a gate to send them through and we'll see them all in the depths. But me, I'm holding to the opinion that the earthquakes have swallowed them all.

What do you think? Any theories?

Just went to Altrumm out of curiosity. It's disturbingly empty. There are still a few bots running in International, but nowhere NEAR what it used to be. /ponder

Now their going to transform into Ninja Turtles lol.

They all went to a giant bot convention in Lion's Arch. I popped in for a few minutes this morning before work and got 3 pm's directing me to a gold selling site. As well as the usual assortment of "wts gold unids 7=5k" spam.

My guess they all got disconnected for the new download and since we can not auto reconnect the poor $#^%$%&#& botters have to reconnect manually. Can’t wait to see the change later today

This would be a nice thing if they put a large dent in the botters if not get rid of them all togeather but that would be asking for just way too much I think.

Last night there were none in Altrumm nor Bergen when I looked in Int and EC-1. I thought this was due to the Bots getting caught in the duper-purge and they were a thing of the past.

Hoever, today I counted about 20 in the few mins my Sin was merching his loot after doing Arborstone. Some things never change......

ANet pulled out all their bots since the community found out "the truth"

wait hold on, there were bots in Marketplace? been farming jades for a while and haven't seen a single one of them.

The bots have been gone from Altrumm for about two weeks. I was looking back in the update notes and there was something about 'fixed a bug that allowed an account to be created without a valid CD key'.

Oh, and the Chebek bots disappeared when the reward was changed so you could not create, get gold, delete and reroll. Gold given at a later quest was increased.

But how will ANet create mass amounts of gold now?

Probably a recent mass ban in preparation for GWEN. Make gold valuable for the people who have farmed as of late... perhaps....

Anet has been banning large ammounts of bots for a very long time now.. and in the past 2-3 weeks I have noticed that there are a lot less bots rampaging. I am VERY happy, hopefully ANET can keep fighting those stupid bots like this to make the game more enjoyable.

I noticed that too. I was farming Kurzick faction in arborstone while that update occurred, and at first I thought they just hadn't updated, but they didn't reappear in the following days. It seems there are still a few but it's a fraction of what was there before. Same thing for other places popular with bots. It's also possible that some of those bot-like people remaining are actually real people. Most of them had real names and not random ones when I checked.

Like I said in Q&A thread their computers crashed or Anet hacked them.

Well there are bots in Bergen Hot Springs, I was there with my new warrior and I saw them just yesterday.

I felt lonely in Altrumm Ruins earlier.
