Any ideas on Vista lag?

I did look before posting, but didn't find anything similar, just...good things about Vista(weird).

I recently installed Vista 32bit, and now my GW is VERY hard to deal with. I often have a ton of lag, and it is not uncommon(like every 15 minutes tops) for me to not be able to move at all for about 10 secs.

I am also being disconnected VERY frequently (at least 5 times a day), unfortunately I lose whatever mission I was working on, and it is becoming very frustrating.

What are your reccomendations on dealing with Vista, I am tempted to just go back to XP, because a week ago, I had no problem whatsoever on XP, and the only difference between now and then is the OS.
