Petition: Make HoM items like normal bonus items
Winterclaw
In the current GW games, if you preordered a campaign you were given a code that allowed you to make as many customized bonus items as you wanted for you char and all his hero friends. However Anet is making it so that the HoM achievements can only be passed on to a single GW2 char and that some things like minis will have to be customized.
I'd like to petition Anet to make the HoM titles and items that you can pass down the same way. There is a discussion on the subject here so let's use this thread for /signs and /notsigns mostly.
If you'd like things passed on to be account based and not char based, please /sign.

No.
This is good, I think.
And even if you all '/sign' it's going to stay the same.

I'm used to play NCAA Football 4 10 seasons in a dynasty. In the record book, I could see all the records that I accomplished.
I've always thought of the HOM as a family photo album, which of course would be account based.

it's the same player - why penalize the same player for playing multiple characters.
Oh and customized mini's means PER TOON just completely sucks.....

Account based please.
I have 10 toons, 7 of whom see regular use. It's bad enough forgoing most titles.
There is little reward to spreading yourself over many charactors (other than a rich and varied playing style) and I was rather looking forward to consolidating any achievements I have made in the HoM.

You can only show one title at a time, which prompted me to get some titles on different characters.
(Guardian on one, vanquisher on another, ldoa on still another, ...)
I don't like the idea of having to play as many characters in GW2 as i'm doing in GW.
I don't want to see my accomplsihments go lost. Which would invalidate the whole idea of HoM anyway.
Although it's still just speculation atm.
They could make a single character in GW2 inherit form several GW characters.
After all a single decendant has several ancestors.
And several decendants can share ancestors.
I don't mind having to play several characters through eotn to immortalise them.
Although my (almost) ldoa will have to leave pre-searing then ...

It makes more sense to do it this way.
1 char = 1 game
2 chars = 2 separate games
etc
1 char = 1 game
2 chars = 2 separate games
etc

Terribly disappointed to hear that I won't have one HoM to show all my achievements as a player - I honestly thought that was how it would work.

/notsigned - GW2 sounds like it's a mutable single character game anyway (ie, you can change your primary profession).

it would be account wide by default, since you only have one character...

not going to buy eotn and going to make ppl not buy it unless hom becomes account-based
i have 10 pve characters, actively playing on all of them... i will not buy gwen coz it makes no sense to me, i dont want to concentrate n 1 or 2 characters, i still want to play all of them and ALL OF THEM HAVE UNIVERSAL ACCOUNT-BASED TITLES. Shame on anet.

If you've got it in GW, you should have it in GW2 the same way. Mini's are account based in GW, so should they be in GW2. I can understand the customization to keep people from "passing the pet", but in that case they should customize them for an account, not a char.
WTF with heroes!!? You have to trade up their armor before you unlock them!? Why! Worst idea ev-er. Again, if I have them in GW, I should have them in GW2. I bought the campaign with them. I did the quests to get them. I laughed with them, cried with them, read the book, got the t-shirt, and ate the damn cheeseburger. Don't punish me for my taste in fashion.
Armor. Ditto. What I said before.
Titles. Same. ANet, here's what you're going to do to yourself if you make it so titles have to be maxed in order to be displayed in GW2. No one will buy GW2 if they're too busy maxing titles in GW. Sure, some will buy GW2 after maxing their titles, but how many people are going to get fed up with the title grind just to prep the chars. (that they've all ready spent a great deal of time on), and just quit. I was fairly certain the entire idea behind HoM was to instill the idea that all the time you spent, all the grind...had'nt been in vain.
Pretty much everything being done with HoM right now seems contrary to it's stated purpose.

reason: the current HoM is complete rubbish
- monument for unlocked armor displays other professions and genders
- title monument is mostly for pvp titles
- mini pets get customised to a single character
ANet needs to scrap this abomination completely and get back to the drawing boards!

Having a "single Item" that can be used to get a bonus in GW2 for "muntiple characters" is wrong. You don't have 8 bone dragons, you have one. If you end up with 8 bonus items in GW2 for one accomplishment it would be a joke.
And what if these bonuses were tradable (i.e. a GW2 mini for your old mini) Then people would just make new GW1 characters in their account just to get the bonus in GW2, sell it and then delete the character and do it over again.
Since this is "OPTIONAL", you can always totally ignore it a just play the game for....fun?

I cant be buggered to max all the titles on all my toons. My ranger almost has full lightbringer, my main has prot for Elona & Tyria, and has a few ascended armours shes's purchased. Etc etc. It's just silly to do it by toon, and not by account.

The concept, as I understand it, is your "ancestor" from GW1 left these legacies for his/her descendant in GW2. Account based just doesn't make sense to me.

With GW2 there will most likely be diffirent classes from what we have in GW1, when you create your first GW2 and pick a class you *think* you like, link it with your main toon in GW1, so you can "Immediately show off you GW1 accomplishments" but after a while playing, you don't like the class and want to create another toon, but you can't link it to your GW1 main, putting at a disadvantage.
Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, especially because it are two diffirent games, diffirent races.. How the hell can an Asura be the offspring of my human characters?

I totally agree. I have not played my original toon in a long time and probably will not again. I keep her because she is my first and I have had her since the beginning. I would like to see those accomplishments passed on, as few and far between as they are.
