best Shield Inscription
Stormlord Alex
-2 while in Stance, or +10 armour vs. Fire/Slashing.
Prof Of Black
Depends, if ur conjure war, take -2 ench
All depends on your build.
Are you enchanted, in stance?
Take what fits your build the best

Ever warrior is in a stance.
Not every warrior is enchanted.
Also remember you can use +10 vs piercing. I like to have both piercing and slashing shields on swap.
Fire.. I don't know what type of damage most monsters do, but The fire spells that really hurt, you shouldn't be standing around in. I never thought of that inscription as necessary.

Personally I use -2 in stance, because if you're not in Stance, you probably don't need the bonus anyways.
ShadowsRequiem
there is no best shield mod.
Best thing you can do is to carry a many different shields if you want to be prepared.

i have +10AL vs <insert damage type> for the most common types of damage (slashing, piercing, fire, lightning, cold) and a blind reduction shield, but my setup is primarily for PvP.
I guess it could also work in PvE, as long as you switch to the damagetype you're facing (for example fire shields vs hydra's, cold shields in area's where winter is used, lightning vs a margonite elementalist boss, ...)

I use -2 stanced, I find that -5(20%) is highly overrated.
Cathode_Reborn
Warriors already have protection vs phys damage and Abosorption runes so I see no point in further increasing it when its the ele damage (expecially from bosses) that will really hurt you.
For general use, I'd use 10+al vs an ele type.

I use Sentinel's insignias, so elemental damage is no more deadly than physical damage for more. Considering there are 4 different elemental types, going for +10 armor against a single element in PvE seems ridiculous. PvP I can understand, since you can make free equipment for yourself, plus you don't need to worry about high damage water eles (stupid bosses doing double damage).
Steboy93
I personally like +10 vs slashing or +10 vs fire, not a big fan of -5/20, i think thats its way overrated and overpriced.
Seef II
For general purposes, I run reduce crippled or blind, but that's when I take my warrior into PvP. -2 stance is usually my inscription of choice - PvE is easy enough that 10 armor isn't going to make or break a warrior in general play with a backline.
DarkGanni
I like +10vs fire and +10 vs piercing personally however I use the fire one the most -5 20% is overrated (as already said) and It's a bad mod in my opinion.

Ye I would say that the -5 20% is the worse choice as well.
I would say +10 vs fire is probably the best... it's simply the highest form of damage in the game and warrior already have plenty of defense vs physical. It's the big fire attacks I'm worried about most of the time.

For PvE, the vast majority of the damage you take is physical, so I wouldn't recommend any of the +10 vs. <element> mods except for certain very specific circumstances. -5 (20%) seems kinda like the Sundering Mod of shields in this economy, highest demand but less usefulness. I would recommend -2 (stance), based on my own experience, as it applies to the largest number of PvE warrior builds. Even if you're using a Conjure spell 100% of the time, you should still at least be using Flail as well. Plus, you wouldn't be limiting the shield's bonus stats to Piercing/Slashing/Fire.

Eh, I agree, but generally those spells are only an issue in very specific missions in Hard Mode. Plus when enemy bosses have like 25 <element> Magic, it doesn't really matter if its Fire, Earth, Water, Air, or Channeling. I'd say its probably better to just have an elem bring Ward Against Elements so we don't have to carry around shields for every occasion.

The best shield mods you cant get on your regular shield
The BEST shield mods I found you could get, but have to be naitive to a shield are
-2dmg While in Stance
-2dmg While Enchanted
Giving you a possible -4dmg stack that can be kept up with 1 stand and something like Vigorous Spirit or a Conjure Build
You can get a -2dmg While in Stance mod but you cant have both of these on a shield unless you find an uninscribeable shield that has both on them.
I had one a long time ago but I unfrotunatly lost it, been sad ever since

for PvE your best bet is to go -2/+45 stance. blind and to some extent cripple reduction is also useful as some PvE mobs have blind skills and you cant relie on your team to remove them fast enough unless playing with friends/guildies.
PvP is a different story, but you said you want a shield mainly for PvE...
