It's clear to me: GW is becoming a "PLay just 1 char" game

I was already expecting this from what i read about GW2 so the only thing i can hope for is that GW2 will also make it possible for you to change primary profession.

I have liked playing 1 of each profession so far, but the time involved in doing everything on all chars (just quests, missions and skills) is going through the roof.

And now with HOM just being character based my decision is final
5/6 accounts and 44/45 characters go into hibernation/storage mode

Now i just hope there will be enough to do to keep me interested untill GW2 comes out

this situation is typical of any game you play and start new characters.

the games i have played (variety from console to online rpg types) you choose 1 profession, go thru game, then feel proud of yourself that you finished the game.

it is purely up to you whether or not you choose to make a char of different profession, then go thru the game again. also it is up to you whether you choose to go thru ALL of the quests (and/or missions), or just the primaries, cap skills, get the rewards you're looking for.

the time you put into any char is your choice.

i have 8 characters, used to have 9 til i deleted my sin, and spent the most time on main char (necro) and left most quests undone on other chars unless i was going for legendary survivor (2 chars).

yes, it is a lot of time, especially having more than 3-4 chars. but--do what's important to you :P

ill be playing many alts in GW2

the Titles/HOM recognition doesnt interest me enough

the only game I ever had a dedicated character was Everquest
used to take as long as a year to get to level 50 (before expansions)

even WoW with lvl cap of 70 is fast track
-- I had 5 new chars reach 70 in less than 6 months

in summary,
one character doesnt interest me unless I plan to put months/years of investment into it (most games, post WoW, dont require heavy investment)
