Should the HoM be account based?
My answer: yes, if it is do able for Anet, since asking for something that can't be done is not needed.
What's your answer? Yes? No? UGGABUGGAA? Or maybe something else?
Be sure to leave it^^

I Agree HoM should be account based not Charactor based,
This game when it first came our prouded itself on being the type of game you can go in and play for an hour and then feel like you have done something worth in that time of play.
Arena Net making HoM charactor based just doesnt make sence. To unlock everything in HoM on all your charactors would take a long time.
Players have spent time getting all things like mini pets but to have them customized to one char is rediculous.
What they should do is to change it to Account based so when you add a mini pet in HoM it customises it to your account so any one of your chars can use them after you have added it in HoM. Also make it so you can store your pets in your Halls of Monuments like storage. Then you can just take out or put back the ones you want. Saves space in your bags no need to carry all of them about.
That sounds like a much better system then what its like at the moment.
hopefully it will be changed in a patch.

YES,
HoM should be account based, or at least the minipet thing... make all other character of the same account unable to use/register is really weird...

Yes. Anything less than account based is failed attempt.

Yes, it most definitely should be.
WinterSnowblind
It doesn't really bother me.
I plan on having more than one character in GW2 anyway, and it would be nice if my new GW2 Ranger character for example, could take over from my original current Ranger. Otherwise it's only one single character that can get the benefits. The only thing I can see that should be account based, is the mini-pets, but I've never been too interested in them anyway.

WinterSnowblind: Didn't they say at most they only reserve names for GW2? You don't get the armor, weapons, or anything like that I'm pretty sure.
OP: Duh. They sell character slots, every campaign comes with extra characters, why the hell should I only play one?

Yes, I customized all my minipets to be able to place them into HoM, but now I learned that my other chars cannot use them anymore. I hope you (ANet) can fix this.

I say absolutely yes as well. HoM seems really broken at the moment. Although I guess having a broken HoM with the possibility for it to improve is better than no HoM at all.

That's the issue in a nutshell. I appreciate that they're satisfying the people that are most hardcore; of course the people who put the most effort in should reap the greatest rewards, but I think it'd be best if they gave more scraps to people like me who have their 2000+ hours spread across several characters, because I think they alienate their largest group of loyal players the way it is currently. I think that investment in multiple characters is a natural result of the level cap being relatively low, which is a big part of Anet's anti-grind creedo if I recall correctly.
The rest of my post gets increasingly rant-like I think, lol, o well...
I hate to possibly sound ungrateful for what I do get, but isn't it obvious that the best way to get people buying GW2 is to give them a pleasureable experience in GW1 until it's time to pick up a new game? I think the strategy of keeping people busy promotes addictive behaviour in players rather than creating casual players who love the game, recommend it to friends, and eagerly anticipate the sequel because they remember how fun the first one was.
I guess they made it this way keep loyal players busy until GW2. Well fact is that there's plenty in the game to keep us busy, I think they should put more thought into trying to give the most satisfying experience to as many people as possible. But anyway, other parts of GWEN should still be fun I think. :/
Just my 2cents.

Just my 2cents. I couldn't /sign your post more. I totally agree and I can def. wait for GW2 to come out. I still have tons to do in the current game and I'm in no hurry. I don't see why people with multiple characters and separate achievements on them shouldn't be rewarded too. The game actually promotes having many many characters. When GW2 comes out I do plan on buying it and I'm already expecting it to be a great game.

Yes. Also, minipets should be customized to your ACCOUNT; not the character.

Yes, because in order to have all the different elite armor sets for even a couple different classes would completely fill your inventory if you don't have them on multiple characters. Not to mention green items, and titles...
Plus in this game, where you can reach lvl 20 in relitively no time, It made sence to make lots of characters to try different things out, in GW2 that is supposed to have a much higher lvl cap, I really don't think people are going to be making 10-20 characters like some have in this game. Are all their accomplishments going to go to waist just because they did them on other characters than the one they name their GW2 character after?

Yes!!! And I agree especially about the mini pet thing. I guess The hall isn't very far in, but you still have to get the scrolls and such and doing it on like every single character can be a burden, because they each have different armor, titles, etc.

/signed to making titles account based.
/signed to just about anything that allows me to USE the 9 character slots I currently have, without punishing me for playing more than one character.
Titles were a great idea. Making them have measurable in game effects and then making them character based was not a good idea.

No! What the heck is this? As if you can't just drop something off in your storage and pick it up with another char, now we are worried about something like mini pets too. So you create a new char, and it's automatically a commander in the sunspears? You guys are just asking for too much now. Starting to remind of the people who were complaining that because they didn't pre-order GW:EN that it wasn't fair that they weren't allowed to participate in the preview weekend. It's a game, it does NOT need to have this much drama added into it.

No. Any titles related to previous deeds are going to GW2 characters. No one else. Why would we imagine there were even Sunspears off in the future?
Just to set things straight. No one expects that whatever titles/minipets/gear is awarded to GW2 characters as a reward for our efforts in GW are going to give some kind of gameplay advantage to GW2 characters. I am sure the game mechanics will be quite different. No one expects the HoM to be some kind of Xunlai chest that gives GW2 characters my extra Charr carvings.

Which is why I don't understand the minipet customization - if we're not getting those minipets back in GW2 (and I hope we're not), why worry about rarity within HoM?
This is just my opinion, but HoM really should be about recording any achievements we like for our own satisfaction and each monument should then unlock an account wide bonus in GW2, once it's got enough stuff in. Nice and simple.
What I fear is that there will be tiers of bonuses, tied to different levels of title or value of minipets and, effectively transfering a large chunk of elitism into the game, right at the start.
