My thoughts on EOTN so far...

Well, I played EOTN for more than 12 hours already, and off course I'm both pleased and disappointed.

Note: THIS IS NOT A REVIEW!!! If you don't like to read bitching/ranting - go away, go for a walk, do something else.... (jk)

Pros:

1)Graphics:

Many gfx significantly improved. This is GW at it's best. (looks wise)
Fire looks very nice, many other new touchups...

2)All the new armors I seen so far look at least OK. (something that cant be said about Factions and NF) "Butterfly" Necro Armor?!

3)Lots of new areas to explore, some new enemies. Quests are interesting. (unlike many quests in Factions/NF)

4)Polymock, Dwarwen Boxing, Norn Tournament... Simply Amazing. Very fun.

Cons:

1)Rep Titles should be account wide. I was simply SHOCKED when I found out they are not. It's ridiculous! Anet wants us to play their game, right? Well.. After I get max rep titles on my main character, I cant possibly want to go through all that grinding again with the others. (as long as I'm in my right mind) Therefore, I'd have little incentive to get my other characters through EOTN, even with the prospect of getting new armors.
Yes... I perfectly understand that all titles cant be account wide. I'm fine with that. But rep titles should be an exception because they take a very long time to get just like Kurzik/Luxon titles, they are tied to Armor, and some other NPCs. Kurzik and Luxon titles are "reputation" titles too - and they are account wide. How are the EOTN rep titles different? Give me one good reason why making these account wide would be a BAD idea... I cannot see one.

2)The bear/wolf abilities are both cool and lame IMHO. Cool, just because they are.. lol But lame because it's a clear rip off from Diablo2: LOD. Yes, I know things like that happen all the time in the game world, but when it's this obvious, it's just not cool. Also D2:LOD had it much better. The whole Wolf/Bear thing on a druid was much "deeper" than it is here. It could be used in PvP, influenced by weapons, and involved many other things. If you gonna copy stuff from another game, at least make it just as cool, if not better. (Just my opinion)

3)Many monsters are just reskinned versions of old ones. I dont have too much "beef" with this, because that is something that was expected, but it's still a con, even if it's a minor one.

4)There is a "bug" where players can get 500 Norn faction every 8 minutes. (Yes I tested it, and done it myself). considering how long it takes to get rep points, it's just not fair to the players who will start playing EOTN after this "exploit" gets patched. If so many had it easy, why should the rest have it hard? The con here, is that Anet still havent patched it...

5)Too little new PvP skills.

6)Strange reasoning behind introducing new drops.... Why screw players who paid 100k+ for plat blades/staffs/legendary/runic swords in the past, when they now drop from chests and are inscriptable to boot? I can see them falling to 10k within the next 3-5 months.
Still, if you're going to screw people in such ways(and I'm ultimately ok with this) why only stop at one rare item? Since plat blades are now fairly common, why not do the same thing to Gothic Defenders? What's the difference here? I cant see any. If we're gonna have things like that now, we might as well have an NPC that will inscribe everything for a fee...

Comments? Criticism? Appreciated.

If this expansion is really only about grinds ..... Well, sadly, I regret to have pre-ordered two copies of "GW-EotN".

I agree. but it might be changed, because this is merely a preview and they don't want everyone getting armor.

Dude. Uh.... Blizzard and Diablo 2 must've "ripped off" someone else? Right? I hate it when people see things in Guild Wars and say "Its a rip off of WoW! Blizzard made it!". In my opinion, I say its a good addition and makes the PvE content more interesting, so I have nothing to complain about.

I don't mind, but the only reasoning I can see in this is because the HoM will only accept rare EOTN items, so by puttin them in EoTN they'd be available in Guild Wars 2.

I like EoTN preview so far

As for bears and wolves, maybe you're right... Maybe that WAS out of line.
