You cant auto run to merchants? How so?
manitoba1073
and you CAN auto run to exits dont need signposts anymore. Yeap they really are doing a good job. LMAO
onerabbit
ive just realised its only in main towns, the merchants are behind stalls, so u can reach then, so you got to go upto them manually.
all the outposts have signs and u can autorun to merch ;(

Retribution X
yeah they are. "put all the rare skins to drop in PvE, then they won't need gold-sellers and bots!"
gasmaskman
How does that make any sense? Bots can just click around walls to get to the merch, or just click on the outside of an outpost.
Molock
Bots will find a way.. sadly

First off, this annoyed the hell out of me all weekend.
Secondly, bots will just zone somewhere where they can autorun to the merchants. It's far from difficult to travel around to different locations, the map always zooms into the same spot, so it's just a matter of finding the right position for the mouse so that it zooms directly over some outpost. then its just a matter of clicking and going to the merchant, then back up to wherever they need to go.

I think the real reason bots are missing is that an exploit allowing creation of accounts without an actual access key has been fixed.
3000 bannings per week will take a good chunk out of the botter base, now that they are no longer able to create free accounts.

Fine, then it was something else. Whatever it is, it seems to be working.

All I know is that one of the recent fixlists included the fixing of such an exploit. I found the idea just as incredible as you do, believe me. Given that reports of missing bots have surfaced since, and someone there pointed the exploit out, I considered a connection plausible.
Perhaps Roshi could tell us more about it, since he seems to know more about the details.

I seem to recall it was abusing the free trial keys.

Now using my normal powers of logic, I assume it means that before the fix you were able to create an account for the game without actually have access to the game.
Now if you want spectulation:
Who know maybe it was useful for account scams, or access to the online store.

But back to more mill of hearsay, It could be connected to the account fix in some way. Creating an account and keeping it going with trial keys, but hey since logic has no bearing in general forum discussion its possible.

Remember in Asia, you don't buy the game but pay an monthly fee. It may be they added a "step" to help cut down people using the Asian subscription for bot use.

The big question is - will you even see bots in GWEN?
I mean - unless we are dealing with stolen accounts - how many players-behind-the-bots will actually purchase 2 games with the req or bringing a char to lvl 20 to even get to the other game? It just seems to much of a problem - unless the rewards will REALLY be good!
I mean - were the bergen bots the Mo/D (that's what I was using) ones OR were they the Mo/something else?

When spiritbond was still used in Shiroken farming, there were botters in Harvest Temple. Thats practically beating the whole game just to farm.

After reading some good advice on these forums about starting a PVP toon and use it to unlock skills before starting a PVE toon of the same class I did just that.
I have never played GW PVP before but while waiting to get in battles there were some complaints of automatic battle joining bots that kept joining battles then did not move from the starting area.
So it seems the botters may have found an easy way to farm faction in PVP.
