I'm very new to the elementalist line but I've been toying with this in RA and it seems fun:
OgBDo8isSMg+ZON/CjV0C4CCAA
[skill]Glyph of Immolation[/skill][skill]Mind Blast[/skill][skill]Steam[/skill][skill]Immolate[/skill][skill]Glowing Gaze[/skill][skill]Fire Attunement[/skill][skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
I can pretty much keep a foe blind and burning continuously w/o ever running out of energy. However, it's purely pressure without much spike. I've substituted Glowing Gaze for Liquid Flame, Energy Burst and other high damage spells but they don't synergize to well with the overall build.
I'd love to hear some constructive comments and suggestions for improvement.
GW:EN Steam + Glyph of Immolation

If you're running Mind Blast, you may as well just run Blinding Flash instead of Steam+Immolation.
FoxBat
If you're running mind blast, you should probably be running immolation anyway, which makes steam a reasonable pick.

Wait...
You're running Mind Blast, with Fire Attunement AND Glowing Gaze... and nothing to spend it on?
Rodgort's Invocation says 'hi'

Rodgort's Invocation says 'hi' *smacks head* I'm going to try that right now! Thanks for the tip.
EDIT: Yowza! that works great. TY

I was playing with Rodgort's Invocation, Glowing Gaze and Mind Blast during the preview and it just plain rocks...unless you're fighting destroyers...in which case don't bother... ROFFLELMAO @ "Immune to Burning"
One question though...with Glyph of Innomation, does the burning get applied before the spell's effects? For example, if you use Glyph of Immolation and Steam, will the burning be applied first AND the target take the additional damage and become blind? Just a thought, wondered if anyone had tested it out.

I honestly don't know. The way I read the description of steam it seemed you had to have your foe on fire prior to casting steam to get the blind.
Now the glyph of immolation is locked so I'll have to wait until Friday to find out.

it's going to work -- it's the case with most of those kinds -- such as stunning strike/anthem of flame, etc.
the glyph is trash, just run blinding flash..
if you insist on using a steam..at least go with mark or rodgorts.

For an elementalist noob like me the Glyph of Immolation is fun... It's nice to keep burning on someone fulltime and it links nicely with Glowing Gaze.
I've run a BSurge / BFlash and found that while they're effective and fun I lacked good e-management. Being new, the Fire build w/ Steam seemed like a nice RA build w/ good e-management. It seemed like a good combo of damage and protection.
