Petition: Hall of Monuments Changes

I think the Monumental Tapestry item should be Customized to the character who earns it. they are selling something they have zero interest in (i may sell a few) to loonies who are desparate to show off right now and will happily pay outrageous sums just so they can brag right now instead of earning it themselves.

THAT IS 4 PER CHARACTER AND I HAVE A LOT TO SPARE

i would like to say that they ought to revamp the whole HoM with the above reasonable request.i would also like to see a little larger storage too with a double amount on the crafting material page.

first off they have decided that minipets will be account customized.
they also stated that it might be weeks/months/by the end of the year to change it.
already customized to a character minipets WILL be included in that change when it happens
titles that are account wide now in the game will be monument account wide as well
titles that are per character in game now will stay character based in the hall
Loviatar: I'm waving a white flag here. I am just wondering can we get a snipet, a quote, a copy and paste from somewhere with someone official stating this? The official Guildwiki states it is character based only still albeit the update has not been made so it shouldn't reflect something that doesn't exist yet. So I would very much like to know where it says that please?
Thank you

Lovitar is imbecilic. First of all, his gutteral babble does nothing for me, since with the horrid grammar, and attempt at making a point with bold is just lost on me. Since 4th grade I had a college reading level...yet this pre-school stuff that Lovitar spouts out his beyond me. Does that even make any sense?

Armors
Need to be able to add a mixed set. Everyone has a favourite "custom" set, at the moment you cant add it.
Mini Pets
Needs to be like a mini pet storage in HOM, account based. They're all on display and any character can take them out.
It's impossible for all characters to obtain all minipets.
Titles
Can add a non maxed title.

I'd think it'd be really great if we could add any custom set we want, although I'm not going to hold my breath.

Ofcourse the HoM isnt perfect, but somptimes people can be so ungrateful.
The fact that we can even earn statues like that and have them pass on into GW2 is pure genius and sompthing unique amongst MMO's, to have it shot down on imo small matters like this is silly.
Im sure A-net made some mistakes, or did things that you didnt like, but just enjoy it and be glad its there.

Not having read through every single post in this thread (I do actually want to play the game a bit), I get the distinct feeling that many, many people misunderstand what the HoM is supposed to be - as per what I have read directly from Anet.
The short of it all is that the HoM is going to be used to transfer one character's accomplishments from Guild Wars to your new Guild Wars 2 character, who is a decendant of the original character. This is the means of "transfering" the original character to Guild Wars 2. Therefore, making the Hall account based defeats that purpose. Nor was the Hall ever designed as a storage closet, rightly so. However, I do agree that we should have been given one more additional Xunlai tab for GW:EN.
Next, the customization of mini-pets does irk me slightly, but guess what - NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO PUT YOUR MINIS IN THE HALL! If you want to sell your minis for money, then don't put them in the Hall. Obviously if you're willing to part with them for some plat, they are not really all that important to you are they?
Other than that, I do have to agree with many points here, again based on what Anet purported the Hall to be. I have my characters decked out they way I like them - armor types, weapons used (Pre-order items included), etc. I should be able to display my each of my character's stuff as is - after all, that's how I'm playing them through each campaign and the expansion, and it's how I would play them through GW2 if I could take them there. Any maxed Title should qualify - each one is an accomplishment in its own right. All Heroes, regardless of upgrades should qualify. Any weapon/off hand should qualify - I pretty much exclusively use collector items and the pre-order items for my characters. Any armor set or mixed combination thereof should qualify because I have my each of my characters decked out in the armor I liked the best for that profession.

I suspect that A-net would implent this if it wouldnt be so damn hard.
I dont think that its quite possible to have the game read exactly what you are wearing and display it exactly the way it is on a statue in the hall. It would probably require to many recourses to be doable, and perhaps that reading the set that you are wearing without any other data is about the limits of the monuments capability.

HoM as minipet storage - god yes, and why not make it armour storage whilst we're at it?

Thank you Oh man...
I'm going to have to back Loviatar up on this one...
Posted in the "Gaile on HoM" thread. Which everyone then ignored and carried on complaining.
Follow the link in her post
Edit: Though that's just about the minipets, I've not seen her say anything about titles.

Thank you very much Lovitar and Saraphim for informing us of this great news. Thank you Gaile Gray and ANET for hearing our concerns and doing something about it. I am quite proud of Guild Wars and ANET now. This was my first extreme concern ever with this game. To see that it is being addressed and taken care of makes me happy and proud to be part of the Guild Wars Community. This being said I am confident in ANETS ability to hear their people and change things based on what their fans expectations are. However I realize they probably won't accomodate everyone's wants/visions they are at least trying.

Greetings all
Just wanted to put my thoughts on the table. Prior to the release, i would have jumped on this thread with a /signed response, but after having played it after the release, and what i have read on the last three pages. I must say I am very pleased with HoM at the moment.
I was especially glad to hear that they were doing something about the mini-pet customisation, and would love something like a NPC that would allow you to make them for your other characters whilst keeping them customised to you (i think it was Enko that mentioned earlier on). This would stop people from filling the hall with mini-pets they don't have, and if it worked the same as the festival hats, it would free up some space for the people that are always asking for more .
As for the storage situation, I'd never turn down an extra slot, but don't think that's too important to me at the moment.
I agree with the need for armour upgrades on the heroes before you can display them, as most of the heroes in NF are required for the storyline and so are not exactly achievements in themselves. And i was able to get six of the heroes from gw:en in the preview weekend without trying too hard. Although this should then show them in there upgraded armour instead of they're starter armour (as many of you have already said).
Arranging the heroes needs working on too. I like the idea of a drop down list (like the one in the party menu) of available 'hero monuments' for each position on the monument, so you can get them where you want them easily.
As for the Armour monument, it doesn't affect me, but I can see what people are saying about wanting mixed armour sets shown. Perhaps they could have one central 'model' and have a drop down list for which piece of armour should be shown where with available pieces being from full sets (although i agree with the option of missing the head piece) that you have submitted to the monument.
I cant really comment on the Monument of honour at the moment as i don't have too many titles to show, but having drop down lists to place them would also be cool.
I haven't unlocked the Weapon monument yet so i cant really say anything about that, but i am hoping to show off my favorite weapons, rather than some expensive greens.

With regards to "The Monument of Valor", I'm pissed at it, there's no way in feck any sane person is going to buy a bunch of rather ugly weapons which cost a fortune 90% of which will be a case of buy, throw on stand, sell to merchant/salvage for a few scraps I would beg that greens that drop from dungeon chests be added to the list of displayable weapons (ofcourse really nice all greens, but I just want the option of not having to farm for the rest of my life to get a completed hall)

i feel the fact they have changed the armour statues slightly to be good, althought i have spent hours obtainining money and items to aquire tormented items, now i cant even show them :S whats the point in that......
I would also say that the pvp titles needed to show should be lowered , possibly making it noticable between a r3+ hero title , r6+ hero title and a r9+ hero title etc , this could also be used for gladiator / champion etc
*and! i feel the pet system should be modified, maybe a 'stable' system, as if i want to get more pet monuments, i would have to release my black widow spider go and cap a few pets , put em in there , and then go all the way through underworld to go n get my spider again :|

It's even worse than that, all you can put in it right now are Destroyer Weapons...
Like I've said before, at the very least, greens should be displayable in the Valor monument.

Like I've said before, at the very least, greens should be displayable in the Valor monument. Wow, that is truly inexplicable... it would seem common sense that at least greens would be allowed.

/signed and i would like to add something too. instead of just puttin up a statue of a pet in the monument of fellowship how bout lettin us pet collectors store our pets there so we dont have to get rid of our old pets to get a new pet and then we could switch between all of our cute little pets pets. in addition, i also think that the title req for armor and what not should be lowered. like mabye lvl 1 for consumables, lvl 2 for weps, and lvl 3 for armor
because its gonna be a pain in the ass to get to lvl 5 for each char i want new armor for.

I signed for the second option , "Yes, but it should not be changed to being account based, but many changes should be made.", cause there are things that really need to be changed.
Titles, heroes and armor should stay as they are.
Minipets and weapons need to be changed : minipets should be account customized, weapons to put on the "shelf" should be more (accept greens for example!)
It was said that HoM was a way to bring the powerful weapons a char had to GW2 (or get some nice thing for that), and then, now those powerful weapons have to be forgotten to be replaced by some endgame GW:EN items. So they would have been more honest in saying "No, you won't be able to put your old weapons in HoM, but we'll give you new weapons to put there."

Without reading through the pages of stuff here, I do recall Gaile saying that there will be changes to the HoM. The change I heard specifically relates to minis.
Personally I fully support turning the HoM into a War Room/Display hall. You should be able to mount whatever armor you want, stash whatever weapons you want, etc. That means more to me than grinding for a specific thing to go in there for the sake of displaying it. I have had the same few swords for my warrior since prophecies and those have more "sentimental value" then any shiny thing I get in GWEN.
Think of it like a museum. Are people going to be more impressed with seeing the armor that someone killed a god in or the crap they picked up because they spent years killing stuff that made them money?

lol yea . Gaile and others at Anet has said they are making significant changes to HoM in the near future. it may not be EVERYTHING people are wanting but it will do some things differently and will be retroactive to make it easy to fix issues that people have committed to already.
So have no fear Anet has heard our plee for a change and has agreed to making said changes to make this a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
Added by RTS - Stop beating a dead horse, check the date of when they was made? Changes have been made since then, this is now invalid. If someone wants to start a new one, use the suggestions forum. Thanks
