Successful build vs. Bison

I used this in the Norn tourney and had pretty solid results. My chances with Bison were completely dependent on whether or not he could get through crit defenses a couple times in a row. If he did, things didn't look so pretty. All in all I went 6-4 against him. Not the greatest, but all in all it got the job done.

14 Dagger
12 Crit
8 Earth Prayers

Way of the Assassin
Crit Agility
Mystic Regen
Crit Defenses
Golden Fox Strike
Wild Strike
Nine Tail Strike
Assassin's Remedy

High critical ratio, 75% block, fast attack and +9-10 regen. the GFS/WS combo is very good now, even though NTS misses out every other try.

The build is wonderful against melee. Most of the guys before Bison didn't stand a chance, with the exception of Norgu, who spammed Empathy like no other. There was also an SS/Insidious spammer that was a little dangerous. Remedy is absolutely necessary, b/c there's really no way you'll go through five challengers without facing one who can keep up an almost constant blind on you.

As for Bison, it really seemed to be effective on him. He could wail you for 200 per hit, and it can be very difficult to recover from two of those in a row, but overall crit defenses was invaluable. It takes about 20-25 seconds to whittle him down though.

It's nice but Bison's damage is way too high. He also has double damage/unblockable strikes. Try bringing more knockdown if anything. =P.

The build I use consist of constant knockdown which is awesome for beating Bison. It is also great for the rest of the tournament too. The only problem I have is usually facing Lukas who is anti-melee warrior, but he's killable. Here it is:

16 Dagger Mastery
13 Critical Strikes

Death's Charge
Critical Agility
"You Move Like A Dwarf!" (Worthy Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap) quest)
Falling Lotus Strike
Horns of the Ox
Moebius Strike
Trampling Ox
[Optional]

The optional slot is really for you to decide. I bring "Finish Him!" because I like the skill effect and funny when you are fighting one on one (Mortal Kombat?).

Any suggestions to this build would be great =P.

short reply but her is how i did it ,
use the gloom farm build and just swap a skill for dash because Bison is easely outrun.
Or just any skill setup to include shadow form and dash plus youre favorite dmg skills

what does you move like a dwarf do? i assume based on the skills that follow that it does cripple and knockdown at the same time? in that case :O :O :O please tell me it's not pve-only?

I would also try out death blossom out instead of nine tails strike on my build, as it reloads faster and I don't think he blocks much or at all.

I like your build though, it looks very interesting. I might have to try it out if I feel the need to fight him again.

I havent tried with my sin yet, but i was thinking Shadow form/arcane echo shadow form along with an epic spike. six skill slots leaves alot of room for attack skills.

Dagger Mastery 10+3+1
Shadow Arts 8+1
Critical Strikes 12+1

[skill]Critical Agility[/skill][skill]Golden Phoenix Strike[/skill][skill]Death Blossom[/skill][skill]Moebius Strike[/skill][skill]Critical Strike[/skill][skill]Critical Eye[/skill][skill]Way of Perfection[/skill][skill]Critical Defenses[/skill]

Cast Critical Eye and Way of Perfection before the gate opens, Critical Agility after you exit and Critical Defenses if you're facing a non-caster opponent and the start to run toward you.
Fire Golden Phoenix Strike and follow up with a infinite combo. Critical Strike when available, otherwise Death Blossom.

When fighting Bison, note that he uses Irresistible Blow first. If you block it, it will knock you down, and if it knocks you down when you're firing Critical Strike it will interrupt it, and Critical Defenses will wear off.
Let him cast Bear Form, fire Golden Phoenix Strike when he's running toward you (after having all enchantments up and running) and wait till he knocks you down. Then fire Critical Strike and proceed as normal.

I had 100% success with this. Only few enemies (like Gwen and Eve -_-) can beat me.

mystic regen,
critical defenses,
critical agility,
jagged strike,
golden fang strike,
horns of the ox,
mobeius strike,
death blossom

works very well. able to quickly beat all characters with relative ease.

when fighting norgu make sure that you cast the enchantments so that critical agility is cast last so that his shatter enchantment removes this. you do not want to fight norgu with IAS so use it as a cover echantment to protect critical defenses which doesnt do much in this situation except boost regen.

when fighting eve do not cast critical agility at all. she is the hardest character to beat, you can wait her out indefinately since she does little to no damage unless you attack her. keep mystic regen up at all times and wait for the oportune time to attack when the least amount of hexes are on you. use the knock down to interrupt key skills and then back off again if necessary.

bison himself? just make sure critical defenses stays up. ocassionly you will get very unlucky and not be able to maintain it because you couldnt land a critical hit in time. this is rare because of the IAS, but irresistable blow does not help the situation since it knocks you down. most of the time you can simply reactivate it since 30 secs has already past. once you get him below 50% spam mobeius, ox.

Moebius+DeathBlossom deals with most enemies.

However.... since the original tourny run I haven't managed to get through again without running into Eve... Norgu ... or someone with blinding skills (Vhang from Shing Jea and Argo of the Turtle Clan come to mind) showing up, so I haven't bothered since.

I'm considering swapping out Death Blossom for Horns of the Ox instead though.... Not sure what the recharge on that baby is like, but with Critical Strike in there as well it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Ok just beat Bison twice in a row only losing to Eve once earlier on beats all other oponents so here is what I'm using

Critical Agility, Ermeti's Attack, Mystic Sweep, Mystic Regeneration, Critical Defences, Critical Eye, Way of the Warrior, Way of the Assassin. 14 crit strikes, 12 Scythe Mastery, 8 Earth prayers
and using an icy soulbreaker of enchanting

Basically use all skills and enchants stances etc. run in and use the two sweeping moves I only use coz they deal reasonable damage and take the least recharge time of any Scythe attacks I have so feel free to swap them around
