Stuck between Fort Ranik (mis) and Ruins of Surmia

My partner and I completed the Fort Ranik mission, and it was quittin' time, so we exited the game instead of accepting the offered mission to rescue the prisoners (Ruins of Surmia I think).

We're now trying to pick up the PVE game where we left it off, but can't find Prince Rurik or an entry point to the Ruins of Surmia mission anywhere. I see that we can redo the Wall or the Rurik missions, but we just want to proceed with the linear PVE story line. Are we the only ones who want to do the missions in order without playing continuously for 40 hours?

If you haven't taken the quest yet, talk to Warmaster Riga in Frontier Gate. If you have, do that quest, it'll take you to Ruins of Surmia (the quest is called Ruins of Surmia as well). If you're at the lobby for Ruins of Surmia, press enter mission to get started.
