Quick Question

I preordered EotN through the in game store for $5, but am I able to cancel that or will I just be automatically billed when the game is released? I'm hoping it's like a retail game store where you can cancel it.

I'm assuming that they won't just automatically bill you for the full game if you've bought the preorder. Otherwise, I see no reason as to why they wouldn't just allow you to pay the full price up front, or why they have this whole system where the cost of the preorder gets deducted from the cost of the full game.
This is just my assumption of course. If you want to be absolutely sure, you'll probably want to contact support. I doubt anyone on here will be able to answer your question with any more certainty than I have (unless of course Gaile or someone else from Anet happens to read and respond to this post).

Thanks dude. You're probably right. I don't see why they would charge me $5, and then another $45 or whatever it is later without me authorizing it. If they were going to do that automatically, why not charge in full up front? It should be the same as retail where if I dont want the game, then I dont go and pay for it.
The problem is I've had a lot of problems with their support site. I try to sign up and I get all kinds of wacky errors. It's been very frustrating and dont want to get into it.
Ive spent about 1000 across all 3 campaigns and after playing Eye for 5 hours, I'm just sort of bored with it. I have about 4 other games that I want to play right now instead so I've decided against getting the game.

Gaile stated herself that that was not a valid "business practice" or something along those lines, so no, you'll have to buy it on your own.

Yeah, in another thread Gail stated that for "business reasons" they cant hold onto your credit card info, therfor cant auto charge you for EotN when it is released.

I'm almost certain charging your credit card without your permission is illegal

Yeah I know, I just wasn't sure if by preorder, I was giving them authorization to bill me for the rest when the game comes out, which is what I didn't want to happen. I wanted to preorder it, try the game out and then decide if I wanted to buy or not. I decided not to get it, so I wanted to make sure I don't get billed.

you bought the "pre order pack" you didnt buy the game or agree to buy it. you bought a seperate product, you shan't be billed.
