Hi,
After having vanquished Elona and Cantha with my paragon I'm now working on prophecies. I'm having problems with 1 area tho, Kessex Peak. I've vanquished it before on another toon but that was with the quest "The Villainy of Galrath" active which made it pretty easy. For some reason I already have this quest done on my paragon, which wasn't very smart but there's nothing I can do about it now.
Since I have to vanquish half of The Black Curtain and almost all of Kessex Peak to get to even get to the point I'm having trouble with I'd rather ask for advice first.
My problem is the last group on the hill. All the other veratas on the hill can be pulled 6-10 at a time, but this group consists of 15-20 mobs of which one is a boss (Verata). I tried everything but I cant split them up. Even when they are spread out pretty far they always all come running. These guys are nasty enough when you fight up to 10 with their mass interupts and mm's but this group is too big for me to handle. I was using a fairly solid setup, which helped me vanquish the harder areas in Cantha / Elona.
If anyone has vanquished this area with heroes/henchies and without the Galrath quest active and wouldn't mind sharing some build ideas I'd really appreciate it. Was thinking maybe 2 trapper heroes, but like I said it takes me quite a while to even get there to try different builds so any help would be great. If I cant get it to work with just hero/hench I'll have to start bothering other people who can get the quest still for help , but would like to try it solo first.
Vanquishing Kessex Peak without "The Villainy of Galrath" quest

bring a couple nuker heros, and position yourself on the bottom of the hill and attack them so they cant reach you. You have to stand at the base so the ranged attackers cant reach you.

I don't have much advice for you if you're running H/H, but a good idea would be to get a pal who has the Villainy quest to just come with you. It would be even easier because you'd have 6 heroes too.

ive vanqed that place, but we were 6 ppl and 2 heroes,1monk that had to go before the tricky part..xd..
mm and sf hero was at 60dp,if you have alot CC,just bring em along and try to kill as many as possible before you die and then run back and do it over and over again...I know its sounds boring, but it works,it took us 45min extra, cuz the monk had to go,but we made it,didnt know that galrath quest makes it easyier.but you should bring a intrupter or so with you.

yep this was a toughie. It was me and a friend and the rest heroes, starting from TOA with 8. I brought about 12 cc's and burned through them all and barely made it under the DP cap.
We totally breezed up until those humans on the Galrath hill (we didn't have the quest). We nuked all the ones up above but there was Verata's gitantic mob. The best thing we could do was try to pull them back, have the heroes flagged back, and hope to either isolate a few or spike them before they went back.
Pulling is difficult because the memsers have imagined burden (or some slowdown spell). The necros have Verata's Gaze so if you use a MM, keep that in mind.
My best suggestion is just to take your deaths, have cc's/cupcakes/those new crazy GWEN gold scrolls, and grind your way at the end. Have some sort of slowdown so when you pull, you can slow 1 guy down and spike him before he runs back to his pack. Be very patient in pulling, may take a lot of tries before you can isolate one or two.

Ill try the take one down at a time thing. Maybe if I flag one hero away from the battle he will never reach 60dp and I can keep going back. Not sure if that works, but its worth a try. And I found somebody willing to help who still has the quest so that should do the trick aswell. Thanks for the help .

Yeah, that big group wasn't much fun, especially since the only rez shrine is back at the zone entrance.
In the end I sat at bottom of hill and picked them off one by one with my mesmer magic. Not quick , but worked quite well. I think scenary is the key, and I think you should be able to get you heroes positioned where they will cast from behind cover.

You can run [skill=text]Death Pact Signet[/skill], on the hero that you'd flag away. When you wipe, make him res you, and then you can commit suicide. Death Pact will trigger and kill the hero when you die but it won't gain DP.

Just dont put a res skill on the hero that you're planning on leaving behind and you'll get ressed automaticly when everyone(except for that 1 hero without res) dies.
