I'm having a problem (periodically...though daily if I play for more than a few hours...doubtit's overheating since it might happen then be fine ffor several hours afterwards) when instanced and both in and out of combat. The entire computer freezes. I get about the last .75 seconds of sound looping continuously and can't alt-tab or ctrl-alt-delete.

This happened since my computer upgrade (which was concurrent with a couple pre-GWEN patches) and only happens in GW (the only other graphically intensive games I've run are Splinter Cell Double Agent and Empire at War (FoC)).

Running:
Athlon64 X2 4600+ on some ASUS board (I forget which one I bought)
2G RAM (5600 i think)
GeForce 7900GS / 256M RAM (PCI-e x16)
XP

Are you running Nvidia's ForceWare 162.18 drivers? A lot of people have been complaining about freezes on the Nvidia forums lately.

I have the same video card and since I updated the drivers to version 162.18 I've had several odd freezes at GW's title screen. The monitor even stops getting a signal and enters a standby mode for a moment when this happens so I'd guess the video card is resetting itself for some reason, maybe faulty instructions from the drivers.

I've got driver v6.14.11.6218.

Also, this was happening before the actual GWEN patch and prerelease key. I'll also try turning off vertical sync for spit and giggles

at least it's not quite as annoying since they put reconnects back in but it sure hurts masters rewards.

i get the same thing, but only when i was playing the Eye of the North Preview Weekend, i'm using the laptop by the way, and at the end of the .75 second sound loop i get the blue screen- man i hate that when it comes up, especially when you get pretty far too then it freezes, thats what i really find annoying, but any note on any fixes or solutions? i just hope when eye of the north goes live, it would be compatible with my graphics card, and hopefully won't freeze, .75 sound loop then Blue Screen.
