Bonus Mission Pack in Account?
Aramaki
Anybody who spend $29USD or more in the In-Game Store have the Bonus Mission Pack showing up in your account? If not how do we know if we have qualified for the promotion? Asking this because I've bought the GW:EN Pre-Order on August 27 from the In-Game Store and 2 Extra Characters Slots today, they both add up to a total of $29.97USD. But I didn't get the Bonus Mission Pack in my account, I know that the content will only go live in November but shouldn't the feature show up in the account?
Mordakai
As far as I know, there is NO WAY to confirm you've spent the necessary amount or not to qualify for the bonus pack.
I hope Anet addresses this soon.

Anet does not currently but should have some type of system implemented for this displaying that you have spent enough to unlock the bonus pack.
ShadowofWar
im pretty sure gwen bonus pack only cost about 4.99 and I think mission bonus pack thing is released from sept. through november or soemthing like that... dont quote me.
Aramaki
So the bonus Mission Pack doesn't shows up in the account, that's really edgy for us... ShadowofWar, I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. The Bonus Mission Pack will not be available in the In-Game Store after October 31 AFAIK. Quote from Gaile:
Quote:
... According to those with whom I spoke, we will not be adding any items to the In-game store prior to the end of the promotion. I guess there is a very, very remote chance that we will, but the team is totally focused on GW:EN, and then on creating the Bonus Mission Pack, and I do not foresee that they will have the opportunity to add to the IGS by October 31st.Quote:
I will ask a couple of other individuals, but that's the best answer that I can provide right now. link Putting the Bonus Mission Pack up for promotion but yet not available for purchase in the In-Game Store after promotion period, pretty messed-up if you ask me.

arak You completely misunderstood what Gaile meant there.
people asked "hey Gaile i have nothing to buy in the store, will a.net add more items we can buy to be eligibible to play the mission pack?"
answer "no new items will be included."
that absolutly doesnt mean that they wont sell the mission pack alone on the ncsoft store later on, actualy Gaile pretty clearly said that they were thinking about that.

I mean, that would be a great way to piss off people: 10 days after people spent $30 to get the Bonus Pack, they offer it for $5?

Edited the title slightly, this mission pack has nothing to do with GW:EN, it's it own thing
On the note if you buy GW:EN from the online store you will qualify for the bonus mission pack.

Sorry maybe I've really misunderstood that part, I thought that any items includes the BMP. But it's strange that there is no mention of the BMP available for purchase after the promotion period. Yes it's not confirmed.
If the BMP is not available for purchase in the IGS after the promotion period, won't people get more upset? Then you MUST spend $29 in the IGS to get the BMP, that alone already upset people who don't need anything from the IGS, or just want the retail box version, and those who can't use the IGS. But that's another topic.

Yes its probably auto-qualify if we buy GW:EN in the IGS but its not available yet. That's why I'm asking, how do we know we are qualified for the BMP if it doesn't shows up in our account after spending $29 in the IGS. It's the lack of proof in the account that got me worried.

Basicly they put the "you have it" on us, there is no little "qualifies for bonus" thing when you spend enough. You DO qualify so you just have to trust them. On the "Bonus Mission Pack" thing on the main site it basicly says look at your spending history and if you're over a total of $29 you'll get it automaticly when we put it out.
Basicly at the moment we have no "proof/confirmation" thing to let us know they know we spent the right amount. You just have to trust that if you're over the magic $29 you're fine. Since you bought the pre-order i assume you're getting the full version of GW:EN as well so you'll be WELL over the $29 dollar mark so don't worry about it.

For the people who complain that they it'll be unfair if the BMP isn't available for purchase after it is released, think about it for a minute. If people now have to spend 29.99 to get it, it'd be wrong for them to release it for like $10 after it is released, they'd have tonnes of people who overpaid for it. So the only logical way for them to release it to everyone for purchase, would be to sell it for 29.99 in the ingame store.

Aramaki, I agree with drop in that you misunderstood the reasoning behind Gaille's post...
Anywho, to clear up ANY confusion, I'll quote directly from the in-game-store... There is no reason to panic/worry....
How To Qualify (for the Bonus Mission-Pack):
"Spend a total of $29 USD or more in the Guild Wars In-Game Store or purchase and activate any product worth $29 USD or more in the PlayNC online store, between Noon Pacific Time July 5 2007 , and Noon Pacific Time October 31 2007."
Details: "The Bonus Mission-Pack will release in November."
No reason to panic... If you follow what was announced you will qualify, and like everyone else, will not be able to play the bonus-missions until they are released in November of this year.

It doesn't actually cost anything itself, you just have to buy other stuff to get it free for this promotion. I see no reason it can't later be sold for 5-10 dollars.

If you're really paranoid and don't trust Anet, make sure to take screenshots every step of the way so you can prove that you spent the money.

Acutally there is at least one reason.
I like boxes, CDs and manuals. I'm buying GWEN thru the store so I can later get the bonus pack.
If its offered later then that means I lost the box, cd, manual since I have not bought at a retail store. I know others that feel the same way.

Well thanks for the reassurance I'm just checking with you all, at least I got the transaction codes for the $29 spend in the IGS. Same here I rather have the box, CD and manual, but I'm alright with Anet if they later put the BMP up for purchase.

Uhh... as far as I know, each character slot doesn't cost $12. If you've only bought the pre release ($4.99USD), then each of your character slots cost $12USD, and they just don't. So if you want the mission pack, you're gonna have to buy something else.
But like has already been said, currently there is nothing that will show that you've qualified for the mission pack.

The amounts you quoted, did they include the tax you paid? i Am pretty sure that wouldnt be included in anets calculation (it being $29 of their goods purchased) to qualify. I may be wrong, but Ive never seen another promotion included taxes... just a heads up for you just in case.

Just as a slight off topic also.. knowing how wary everyone is of the store on opening night, I this evening when purchasing extra slots (to qualify for the mission as I have GW:EN from elsewhere), the store timed out and later I found that they had charged my credit card twice...
Not exactly something that instills me with confidence when it would have been a "quiet time" on their stores server....

Doh! *smacks own head* I did miscalculated, all the while I thought the Pre-Order is $9.99 even when I bought it myself from the IGS... Now I'm still short! Might as well buy GW:EN from the In-Game store, I've 14 characters slots already and I am disappointed with the box package and manual... Perhaps I'll follow up whether the Bonus Mission Pack feature is added to my account or not.
Ha ha I deserve some butt-kicking but at least I found out that ATM that there is nothing that will show that you've qualified for the BMP.

You WILL be qualified when you buy it, but there isn't going to be anything that says "You are now qualified for the Bous Pack" you'll just have to wait for it to come out in November and trust them to add it. (It's probably an automatic system)
MMSDome
Hmm I think it is brilliant how we pre-order the game in the onlnie store yet when the game comes out we need to re-buy it meaning we only payed for some pre-order package. Why cant it just automatically be charged to the credit card because if you preorder a game you obviously want it. Sometimes I wonder what the hell the people that organize this crap are thinking.
Aramaki
Yeah I just bought GW:EN in the In-Game Store for $35USD, GW:EN is added to my account but the Bonus Mission Pack feature still isn't. Just have to trust Anet to add it automatically in November.

To give people more control - for instance, in case pulling the money out on release time is somehow going to hurt the customer (there probably aren't many situations in which such a small deduction would have that effect, but it is a possible concern). If the customer has to do it themselves, then it's their responsibility to ensure that something like that isn't going to happen.

for example-i get paid friday.. i currently have $25 in that account, if it was auto and the transaction processed early it would either fail - or more likely knowing my bank, be an overdraft... This way, i have to push the transaction through to ensure i want it at that time.
wolfwing
If they make the BMP available, to be fair it probably be a few months later. So those that got bought stuff for it would have it, but those who want it can still get it but at a later time, the advantage is not spending 10$'s and getting it months before everyone else.
