Do multiple characters share unlocked skills?

I've been playing the same character since 2005, without ever having any others, but am finally getting around to thinking about starting up a second. Because of that, I'm not quite familiar with how the availability of skills works across an account.

Will PvE skills I've unlocked will adventuring with my first character be available for use by my second? And vice-versa, will any new skills I unlock with my second character be available for my first?

Once you buy/unlock a skill, it is unlocked account wide and all your characters will be able to purchase it at any skill trainer of the chapter the skill is from.

So if you unlock a prophecies only skill, all skill trainers in prophecies will sell it.

Your 2nd character won't have the skills in his skill list, but like stated before they will be available at any skill trainer of the campaign to which the skill is tied.

Sigh, when will this urban legend die. I believed it the first time I heard it.

What part is supposedly an urban legend? Are you implying one character's unlocked skills in fact won't be available to another on the same account?

only ones that arent aailable are elite skills, but i think you can use tomes for that right?

Urban legend? This is how the game works, and has worked for quite some time now.

Yes, once you unlock a campaign's skill, it will be available for purchase at any skill trainer in that campaign for any character you have that has that profession - either primary or secondary. You can also equip your character with any skill you have unlocked on your account by using a tome. You can usually buy them from other players for anywhere from 500g to 750g, much cheaper than the 1,000g that the skill trainers eventually charge. (elite tomes cost much more, generally from 7 to 12k)

And, of course, any PvP character you create has access to all skills you have unlocked.
