Hello, does gwen's broken flute, that can be found in the ruins of old ascalon, have any use in the game or not??

To the best of my knowledge, the broken flute serves no purpose at all. That doesn't mean that ANet wouldn't give it a use sometime in the future though, especially seeing as Gwen has returned to us. Never know.

You can equip it as an offhand item.. shame it doesn't provide any bonuses though

The broken flute, at this point, is merely a memento, but who knows if it will gain some significance in GW:EN

I suspect at some point in the EOTN story, Gwen will have a conversation detailing her plight after the Searing. Then, maybe she will reward you for holding onto her memorabilia.

Currently, you could say you had some relics of hers, but she would ask you to show them to her later. Probably need to wait until after the Ebon Vanguard storyline at least, but most likely you'll have to beat the game first.

Threw that and the tapestry shred somewhere in the middle of the Jade Sea. I think it's just another ANet item to take up inventory space. More junk, more slots sold for mules.

I read somewhere if you bring the broken flute and the tapestry shred you get from gwen in pre.... to Gwen in EoTN... she says something like "Oh my I forgot about these relics blah blah blah"
You dont get anything from her... nothing special happens.... she just mentions that you have them and she remembers the good ol days.

Like previouslt stated, Gwen says that they have to help the vanguard before talking about her past. Only when GW:EN will be released will we know for sure. I'm guessing they have some purpose. Since they added the preserved red iris in Nightfall
