I'm partial to the rat - mostly because no one else likes them. Just wish it were white.
Actually there is no "better" or "worse" pet. The only difference between pets is the kind of damage they do (slashing or piercing). All have the same health and armor (depending on how you evolve them rather than the kind of pet). And all attack at the same rate of attack except the bear whose brutal mauling slows him down.
