GW:EN From the Online Store

Ok, I have been told (and have read on these forums) that GW:EN is able to be purchased right now in several stores. I understand that it won't go active until 12:01 PST on the 31st., and I expected that.

I know that there's another thread earlier that mentioned concerns about the server going down, and double-billing taking place, but this is an idea thread.

Why don't they release the game for purchase now, at least to those that pre-ordered?

This would hopefully stagger the rush, and since it's simply a key to add to an account, I can't see it's any different than selling the game in a store early. I mean, those CDs and their cases had to have been printed weeks ago, so a key even now would be more current.

This would also help the actual game server, if people left themselves logged in, they could download the information gradually, as opposed to everyone trying to download everything as soon as they log on.

Jonfal, if you read the topic in Riverside Galie states that there are some legal matters with selling the product before the product is accessible.

We've all mentioned this before. Anet may have even looked at it - however apparently it isn't LEGALLY possible.

Yeah i read gailes post in dev tracker.Says something about how they cant do that.

Couldn't everyone technically start guildwars with -image and download all the new content now?

I dunno but i think hes talking about buying the actual game.
The game download will come from an update.

I would love for this to be available tomorrow, but if not then it will be the next day for sure.....
