question(s) regarding purchase.

I tried to search this (and other) questions but with so many posts it's hard to sift through the junk. I tried the sticky above regarding purchase for penny pinchers but has nothing to do with my concern. (well it does only if my assumption below is correct) So I figured I'll just ask.

I am looking to try Guild Wars. I figured I would just do the digital download. So i go to the PlayNC site. I view all the downloads. Now my question is. What is the difference between (example) Guild Wars Faction's and Guild Wars Faction's *PvP Edition*. There seems to be a PvP edition for all releases.

Now in thier discription (this is where my main question / confusion lies) is this line

Access to Factions™ PvP in-game content only. Does not
include the Factions™ campaign roleplaying content.

Does this seriously mean I have to buy the normal Guild Wars Faction's edition. and the PvP edition if I want to do the quests and try out PvP??? This is really confusing. I was about to just buy all 3 chapters because I can. Once reading this i hesitated thinking i need to buy 2 different copies of each chapter to enjoy the quests and the pvp???

If so isn't that a bit ridiculous? I mean the normal copy of 1 for 29.99 then the pvp edition for another 39.99. so that's 70$ just for 1 chapter and I wanted to get all 3 comming to nearly 250$ if i want to PvE and PvP?

Someone please help me and clarify this so i can either get in the game or start looking else where.

The PVP edition unlocks all skills associated with that continent, there are four sets of skills, Factions skill, Nightfall skills, Prophecies skills, and core skills (in all campaigns). So the PVP edition would just unlock the skills and give you access to the PVP content. If you buy the regular edition, you get no skills unlocked, access to both the game it self and the PVP stuff (called the battle isles). So in case I wasn't clear, the regular edition gives you both the story and the pvp with no skills unlocked, and the pvp pack gives you all skills but no story so just pvp. the pvp pack is for the hard core pvp player who doesn't care about the story.

Ok so basicly if I buy the normal edition I can still PvP and enjoy the story of the game? I just have to earn or *unlock* the skills via missions, quests, and the story line? So the PvP edition is the lazy way out + it gives zero access to the PvE section of the chapter...? I have this figured out right?

Yes, in a nutshell, you have it correct.

Thanks a lot for the quick info. Really thier purchase site should describe these 2 options a little more clearly. I guess I'll give it a shot then.
