Is their no Explorer title for EoTN?

I didn't notice one during the preview weekend. Maybe it will be added when the game goes live.
Rhys
Probably not, as Legendary Cartographer titles can already be obtained. Much like Legendary Skill Hunter, and the lack of elite skills in EotN that count toward any title.
Uber Mass
they added a new step in KoBd title a total of 5 new titles
prolly:
Norn, Ebon Vanguard, Dwarven, Asura and Master of the North title track no other titles

Was hoping for more titles myself.

If I remember correctly the Elona explorer track didn't work for the Nightfall preview event either. It only started with the real version I think. So maybe the explorer title track for GWEN will start this weekend as well?

I certainly hope so - I'd much more prefer to hug walls killing and opening chests to get another rank of KoaBD then repeat faction farm runs like for SS/LB...

tho you cant explore Tyria for more then 100% have you ever thought about that?
neooki
Either they'll increase the tyrian cartographers title, or they'll add a new title for Eye Of the north. In either case there really isn't that much above ground explorable areas, and dungeons don't count for any of that. Would be a hellish fast title.
Another thought could be, instead of cartographer they use a title like mastery of the north(or a similar) title thats point based and when you complete certain areas you'll get points into that title saying that you've done it all in EotN.

Isn't the current possible Tyrian figure greater than 100%? In any case, if you must go down that avenue, you'd have to accept that people currently calling themselves Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer, are actually liars.
Uber Mass
well again i dont think they will add titles yet why? the following:
The added 1 new title to KOBD = God Amongst Mortals this means +5 titles
the probable titles:
Ebon Vanguard
Norn
Asura
Dwarf
Master of the North title track
hence these are the titles till now that is

Well, my Far Shiverpeaks map still has fogged parts and my Tyrian cartographer / Legendary cartographers are still intact. I'd be a wee bit miffed if I lost two max titles when the game goes live.
What I'd assume would be fair is to leave current titles as they are, but anyone exploring the new parts would get an easier ride on the rest of their percentage and hit 100% with the extra land masses that've been revealed. Of course some people with 100% already may well moan about that, but eh.. personally I couldn't care less if it gets easier for other people. There's already a texmod that makes it hilariously easy to see the bits you've missed anyway.
I believe pre-EotN, You could still get around another 5% on top of teh full title. I know I missed a big chunk in Hell's Precipice around the portals, but hit 100% before I got to it.

Well, since most of these new areas are connected to dungeons, they should make a new title "Excavator of Tyria", even though the exploration doesn't take place in the dungeons.
This also wouldn't conflict with the cartography titles.
Oh, and we didn't get an exploration title in the Nightfall preview event because it was going to restart our progress anyways.

Let's make it clear - No, there is no Cartography title in EotN
No Cartography
No missions
No hardmode

I was wondering about missions earlier... I've stayed away from a lot of the news as I like surprises...
No missions, wow. That'll feel weird.

No hardmode You're not making it clear... you're guessing. Linsey Murdock, ANet dev, basically said straight out that there will be a hardmode during discussion of Moa Eggs, more specifically, the rabbit 'hole' in Drakkar.
Quote: "I think a lot of people were hoping to charm the bunny. Which is exactly what I wanted. It is a trap and I've been giggling since I came up with the idea when I think about people going "omg a bunny! I wanna get a closer look!" The biggest killer in that encounter is panic. If you just stand and take all the mobs, it's really not that hard. In hardmode it'll be beastly though *giggle*"

Of course there will be hard mode. Or did you just forget you have to beat the game before you have access to it for that area?
william1975
lol Alien you are so right
Anyway as a cartographer i would like a title but can see the difficulty in adding one in, its a small area, would be quick to complete if alone, or in the case of adding it to the tyrian cartographer would either annoy those who have it, or make it a lot easier to get if they don't make it a requirment for the exiting 100% to maintian their title

It's not a small area: so far we have probably not seen all of the Far Shiverpeaks. Additionally I seem to recall it was said that the Asura and Charr areas are above ground too.
I would guess Tyria will be split into Northern and Southern title tracks; having one title for both Proph nad GWEN would provoke howls of protest from those of us losing not one but two titles, and would put-off newcomers to the title from trying it because of the sheer vastness (Southern Tyria is already 54 areas, compared to the 30-odd of Cantha and Elona)
At least 7 new titles I reckon (four allegiance, cartography, mastery, vanquisher). I suppose mastery may replace both protector and guardian as there are repeatable quests and dungeons to replace missions and bonuses.
But unlike Sethellington, I'm prepared to admit this is a guess

Midnight08
its really not all that small if they include dungeons...
CyberMesh0
There's only like 16 new explorable areas- that's like a third of what factions had. Talk about a cheap title if they do do it.
DarrylA
I asked about how exploring EotN was going to affect the existing cartography titles and if it was going to have a track of its own during the Q&A portion of the "Inside ArenaNet" panel at PAX. The answer was that it will have no affect on the existing cartography titles, there will be no EotN cartography track, and that it will be incorporated somehow (they didn't elaborate) in the Master of the North title track.

That would not work either since there will be a few EotN areas that exist in the souther portions of Tyria as well (Tarnished Coast for example)

1) it's unlikely they'll include dungeons, they've never include areas that don't show up on the map before.
2) Factions had 33 explorable areas. The names of explorable areas no longer show on my GWEN map but it looks like I visited 6 above-ground areas, and I suspect there were a couple more I didn't go to or that weren't available. Assuming the Asura and Charr regions are the same size, that would equate to 18-24 explorable areas. Which is considerably more than a third. Also remember Factions areas were relatively small. So no, were GWEN explorer to exist, it wouldn't be a cheap title.
3) If your information is correct DarrylA, that's bad news.

True but they could call it something else.
MithranArkanere
I found A LOT of 100% Tyrian carthographers in Spanish outpsots.
I bet the newy areas count as leeway for the Tyrian carthographer.

Actually far north shiver peaks is the largest area really if you look at the leaked map. There is really only 2-3 areas with Char, 3-4 with Asura, and another 2-3 areas that you couldn't get too *that one exit west of Olafstead that was blocked off for instance*

If they're going to add a new title, I hope they don't half-ass it and just do it like they should. EotN cartographer, and add one more req to the Grandmaster title. If it was maxed before, oh well? Not only would it be an easy title, but it's logical and there's no trying to dance around people's precious feelings. It wouldn't make any sense not being linked, since then you could get Grandmaster Cartographer without exploring an entire expansion.
Adding it to Tyrian without bumping up the requirement for Tyrian is dumb too. That's probably +15-20% on there. There's a small leeway for missed corners here and there, not for entire areas you don't feel like exploring.

just my opinion but I think there are no new elites so as to not mess with legendary skill hunter so there will be no cartography for the same reason.
Convulsing Crunchy
I hope they just leave it without exploration. I have Legendary Grandmaster Cartographer and I want it to stay that way. I don't want to map ever again.
